Re: RX-7 FC rebuild - False Start...
The M3 sounds like a good idea, dunno how easy it'll be to get fitted to the chassis, but I'll give it a go if I can find and fund one. Thing is the new motor is gonna chuck out tons of torque (300ish Bhp and roughly 450lb-ft of torque) vs power. Though I need to get a new chassis now. Both my curr...
Re: Ugly Cars
Ferrari Italia and Enzo, not the ugliest cars ever but still pretty ugly... FXX and F70 are fine. Hang on, so an Enzo is ugly, yet an Enzo with a mis-fitted bodykit and crap paint job looks good? Lamborghini Murcielago LP650... the Murcielago is awesome and the LP640 and Roadster are particularly g...

I wouldn't class an S15 as "affordable". Unless I'm mistaken, they were never officially sold outside of Japan/Australia.

Re: Favorite Car?
It probably would, if such a thing even existed. Which it doesnt as the E60 M5 went out of production in 2009, and we're not due a new (F10) one until 2013.Fergale wrote:Hi,

And that is BMW M5 2011. Provides you much more than what you expect from it.

Re: Best sleeper car when stock?
The rs6 avant's rims set me off. 03 S4 FTW! It looks drab from all angles, but it pwns on the track. My dad had one. The B6 would be a better sleeper if they'd actually made is reasonably powerful- 339BHP in a car weighing the best part of 2 tonnes doesn't make it too much of a sleeper- My S2 coupé...

Re: Mazda Motors cooking up gas engine with better than hybr
Meh. Lots of cars already produce far better MPG figures than hybrids. They're called diesels.
Interesting fact. In a coal/oil based energy economy like that of the UK or USA, a plug-in electric car is more polluting (in terms of CO2 emissions) than a small turbocharged petrol or diesel engine.

Supra Getrag is the way to go. The Holden/Chev guys around here seem to love them, and therefore you can get a new one (or just parts) from any shop that deals in drag racing gear. Not to mention that reco'd and s/h units are all over the place too. If you're making enough torque to smash a V160 (u...

Re: RX-7 FC rebuild - Finally!
LOL, yeah the side exits can get loud hence the 3 small mufflers instead of 1 massive one. Problem is Rotary's have a habit of blowing the muffler contents straight out the back/side usually accompanied by a foot long flame... How often was that followed by what was left of the Apex seals? ;) Shame...

Re: What car do you drive ?
A well set-up and tweaked pair. Did you do the work yourself, or buy them like that? It's when I've had a hellish, cold ride home through fog on cut slicks on the bike and sit down to see cars like that R33 that I really, really miss my old motors. A diesel A4 estate just doesn't cut the mustard com...

Nice pair- though shame about the wheels on the R33, they really don't suit it well IMHO.

Re: RX-7 FC rebuild - Finally!
I have a plan for the side exit as I've had a couple before and yup they were stupidly loud, though the 205 was great fun for scaring everything :D I swear that side exit systems are the only ones in existence where the volume is louder on forced induction cars than N/A ones. Mind you, that might h...

Re: RX-7 FC rebuild - Finally!
Not bad, the front bar is similar to what I have in mind, though the rear diffuser is different. I'm aiming to go Side Exit if I can but with the way the engine mounts it may be tricky. If I can I'll be exiting before the rear right tire. Side exits are astonishingly, brain-bleedingly loud. I tried...

No such thing as an M3 Touring, unless you count the Falken Tyres drift car... Probably going to be an E39 M5 saloon. Oh I thought there was one in the E36 days! Bugger I'm slipping. Totally agree on the lazy V8 stuff too. They are so boring to try to have fun in. It's like dial-up when you could h...

Escort Cossie with Ford Coyote 5.0L V8 (from the 2010 Mustang), RWD, and a widebody kit. VVT-i / individual throttle body / variable geometry turbocharger 2JZ-GTE in a Lexus IS300. Why would you want to put a big, heavy, thirsty V8 in a Cossie, completely unbalance the front end and remove 2 wheels...

Re: What car do you drive ?
Couldn't agree more :D Though it was a valid alternative. Guess that leaves the M3 Touring if you can find one (said to be rarer than hens teeth). Other than that I'm out of ideas as the RS4/6, M3/5 Touring and C/E63 AMG Mercs are about the only truly fun dog scarer's. Below that things start getti...
