road block police cars don't move unless you repeatedly charge them with no other cops on your tail... so as long as you were out of 'viewing' range of the roadblock they won't move... and they'll be searching miles ahead....

No, XP has a compatabilty mode, that helped win9x games run on XP. Where as VISTA is derived from XP, as such as long as MS hasn't broken or 'corrected' to much anything that run on XP should run on VISTA fine.

Shade over 10s is possible as that seems to be the length of time it takes to get to cool down. But that would mean the first thing the cop car knows about you is being nailed. I've managed a shade under 12s from a standing start.

Okay, then... Evo is a nice start, set-up is key... First off slam it to the ground and max out your down force, rest of the settings I use are steering +4, handling +2 or +3 (depending on tyres), nitros -5, turbo +5. I tend to keep to the freeways dipping into the town areas when I get about 6 cops...

The mountain drift makes it look much clearer... obviously there's something wrong here. Infact the flames would be perfect if the car was about 3 frames down the road. Are we seeing the physics model at work here?

okay another catchup problem. or maybe just a game bug... you hang back from the AI drivers to on the speed trap runs to stop them from spinning you just before the speed trap, you blast past them on NOS and you record the SLOWEST time through the trap? WTF?!

I race with min world detail but do pursuits with max detail (more things on the road that work as pursuit breakers). I forgot to turn the world detail down so did in a race and found I was crashing into things that were invisible...

Finally managed it! I didn't have the TT so had to make do with the Golf, Punto & RX8. I ran the Golf setup so that I could only just keep it on the road & with the ride height all the way to the right. Earl kept on rolling his car.
