Well, after you buy your car and paint it up or whatever you're going to do in the beginning, you need to check the race map (whatever the top choice is called). This is where you will find the races to take part in.

For everyone interested in the soundtrack, I stumbled across it last night in alt.binaries.nl. Someone out there extracted the music (all 26 tracks) from the game and posted it to the above newsgroup.

Nope, can't say that I do. I am familiar with extracting the audio files from ASF files, but NFSU is using these AST files. And so far I haven't seen any converters/extractors for them.

If your friend can indeed do this, we'd all love for him to share with us how.

Other windows platforms should be something similar. If you're having trouble finding them do a search for *.UGD and get the path that way.

Any updates as far as decoders for the audio format being discovered yet? There's a few of the NFSU songs I'd love to be able to listen to while in the car.

Actually, I was having the exact same question. I know there was a utility released for FIFA 2004 that extracted the audio tracks, so I don't know why this would be any different.
