I know, I know. It's been a while. The only real updates to the car are that I've lowered the car to sit -45mm from stock, the rear camber is now at -1.7deg (the fronts still need adjusting), and I've painted the wheels white. I'm meeting with a friend on Sunday who has just bought a TD04 equipped car to see what I think, and whether to go ahead and get a manifold made up and run it. Failing that, I'm still looking into the potential of a bank of R1 carbs, though lately I was offered a 12A rotary cheap so have been in talks with Ro-Techniks regarding the difficulty of the swap, and the ease of extracting power. Other than that, I have a 330mm dished steering wheel on order, and a charity race event booked at RAF Marham with Pistonheads. I've also since been accepted into the RAF as a photographer, though my basic training won't start until November. Hopefully then, all the bigger plans for the car will come to fruition. Anyway, less talk, more pics:

I'll be making a few minor changes before Sunday, then I'll be doing a photo-shoot of both cars.

Looks ace with the white wheels, but I think I still liked it better before :-k

Regarding carbs, I was told they only make good power in the top end? Can't argue with the sound though!
On the other and, the 12A (with a turbo of course) would be wicked

It's true, they're only really any good for mid-top end power, which suits me fine as I love mashing through the gears and revving the poor girl until there's nothing left! My biggest issue is whether they'll flow enough air, but I'm assured they will. Still un-decided as to whether it would be worth lifting the rev limit then though, I'm not sure the rods will take it...

I know what you mean with the wheels. I'm actually really happy with them, but a lot of people preferred them before. I had no choice, really. They were so corroded I couldn't bear the sight of them.

I'm with bbm on the wheels. I don't really think the white suits it as well as it was before, but the car still looks damn nice, as always.

I, for one, prefer the white wheels - makes it look like like an RC car, almost. :P

How'd you get those motion shots of the wheels?

Black ones matched the car's black trim better, but I uess it hides the rust nicely, lol. Still looks clean as.

Haha, the most popular comment so far has been that it looks like a lego car now! I've loved the red/white combo since seeing it on an incredibly clean GD Impreza at a show several years ago. I was tempted by black, but I thought the details of the wheels would be hidden then.

Haz - The motion shots were achieved by letting the car roll at about 5mph, then holding the camera out of the car on the end of the tripod, and using the 12-second timer for the shutter. Takes a little practice as obviously you can't see what you're capturing, but it's a cheaper way of doing it than buying a suction mount. I'm hoping to get some rolling shots on Sunday from the boot of Leanne's Civic while my friend drives.

Yeah, true.. either combo works just as well... just depends what you want to achieve. All down to personal taste.

Haha, nice. That's one way to do it, I guess. I was thinking you had someone else drive slowly by you with the camera, or something.

The intercooler balances it out, imo.

Haha, I think you added to the Lego-ness with the yellow tow hook. Car looks neato!

Definitely agree with HaZ - that bumper is whack. Probably necessary for that intercooler though, no?

Bogan - The turbo was good, actually. It's a variant of the TD04 I have, she's putting out a nice 153bhp @ 5psi, but the power-band/torque curve are fantastic, fuelling controlled by an E-manage blue. The car is in desperate need of an alignment so it's difficult to say for sure, but it seemed plenty grippy enough which was my main concern.

As for the bumper, it's a ''Smoking Dragon'' front. It also happens to be one of my favourite changes to the MK1 front end. :D
