Best Drift Car

Post by Vistax64Gamer »

What is the absolute best drift car?

The reason I ask is because I can beat Ryo Watanabe on everything, but this damn drift course. I am using a stage 3 (tire, suspension, brakes, engine, enduction, drivetrain) VIPER and I score somewhere near 2,400 - 2,700 while Ryo always scores an insane 3,900 or more. How is that even possible.

If I could just pass this drift I'd be declared street king real quick and win his car.

Stage completions: Cars and records (each race fraps recorded 800x524 hi-res 410MB)
Distance Race (Beat using the unmodified "black logo" VIPER we win after showdown 2) Finished
Speed Race (Fastest speed thru all checkpoints - Ford GT stage 3) Finished
Drag Race (11.06s using stage 3 c6 vette) - Finished
Wheelie Competition - (1,206 Ft using stage 3 c6 vette) Finished
Time Attack (48.55 stage 3 GT-R Smoked ryo's car in an underpowered GT-R) Finished
Drift (Using a stage 3 VIPER, but I cannot get anywhere near 3,900 even on a perfect run)

Someone please tell me what car to use to beat this drift - Its the only thing stopping me

In NFSU2 you score for Speed + angle of drift + distance from line... Doesn't seem that way in NFSPS, how is he scoring 3,900 when I have a viper with tons of horsepower (stage 3) drifting with good angles and right near the line while shifting to gain speed and getting nowhere close to his score.

The game mode is (King for all races)

I see everyone in multiplayer mentioning level 4 and level 5 parts, but I don't see them available anywhere under tuning in career mode.

Are you holding one drift for a good amount of time? That's the key to winning in Pro Street.

Yes, but I still cannot get anywhere near his 3,900 points.

See video, now tell me what I did wrong and how to get close to his normal 3,900 points.
This video shows a low score for ryo, but I can assure you he normally hits 3,900+.

Try the Corolla or the S15 Silvia. They are excellent drift cars (the Infinity G35 is aweful in comparison). The RX-7 is also very good but harder too control that the other two. The 240SX isn't half bad either.

Trick is to get as much time at full throttle and in 2nd or higher. Chain drifts and you get insane multiplyers to the score. Chaining is the difference between 2 1400 point drifts and 1 6000 point drift.

but ae86 has very low BHP!

I thought drift cars need high BHP?

Not necessarily. It helps a great deal, but what makes the ae86 a good drift car is that its weight is easier to shift and control. Now this is just my opinion. I'm definitely not an expert at this.

Also don't forget power figures in this game are a total waste of time. For instance when has a 240SX with 484Bhp ever managed to do a 7.7s 1/4 mile!

The Corolla is superior to nearly every other car in drift. The Silvia is too. Its just shiznit game mechanics.

Yeah, go with either RX-7, S15, 240SX or AE86, all should make winning drift pretty easy

The announcer makes fun of me for using a Cuda as my drift car. Untill I post 6-8k scores. Its only plus is the tires never hook up. It makes the big sweeping corners into points nirvana.

However, saying that, I just finished the drag/sprint part of Rio wannabe last night (who wrecked in all the speed challenges for me =D> ), so Ill see how I fare with said Cuda tonight.

Having tried the RX 7, Monaro VXR (sorry, GTO), Viper and Corolla, my best scores have been achieved with the level 3 AE86.

The others I haven't even come close to what I've achieved with that car :D
