The cars of NFS

Post by funky_mish »

I really enjoy NFS games, and have done since Hot Pursuit 2. So I'm not someone who's been 'here from the beginning', but I've owned all the games ever since. I guess the problem I'l going to talk about here started in Underground 1.

Is no one bored of seeing the same cars over and over again? I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I'm so bored of seeing the same old tuner cars over and over again, and not a lot else. What exactly makes Impezas an Evos, in particular, so interesting? I rarely use these 2 in games, because they're so unexciting. Other 'same old' cars include things like RX8, RX7, 350Z Lexus IS300 now, Skyline (not so much, it's a car that should always be included).

So, what would I prefer? Well, I understand that these cars are staples for NFS, but is some variety too much to ask for? Although I'm not a fan of muscle cars, and they are useless in any real motorsport besides drag racing, I was happy to see something new in the game when it came round to Carbon. Some of the classy german cars like M3s, RS4s etc are a good addition.

I was really happy to see the Ford Escort Cosworth in Pro Street. This is the kinda thing NFS needs. Slightly older cars that people may not have thought of. These kind of cars add variety, and they are often far more interesting cars. Here's a short list I've thrown together of the kind of cars I'd love to see included in future titles:

Lancia Delta
Alfa Romeo 156
Audi Quattro
Mitsubishi 3000GT (where did this disappear to?)
Mitsubishi FTO
Vauxhall/Opel Calibra
Renault 5
Renault 19

And for the exotics: BMW M1 :D

There are so many gems not in this small list. If I'd written this before Pro Street the Escort Cosworth would have been the first car written on there, no question.

So, how many of you would like to enjoy something other thsn the same old 'tuners'? It'd be cool to see some lists of slightly older cars or cars that many people won't have thought of.

Discuss! :)

Well..., I actually think that at the start you should have an "old" car and then when advance through the career, you should get some newer cars. Yeah, I really loved the fact that they put in the Cosworth. But don't you think there already so many cars, you can't even descide which one to drive with.

I think it's because the whole tuner culture is centered around imports and such. Plus, there's a lot of info and the tech on those cars, so it's easier to put them into the game.
