NFS Carbon - special saves

Post by jeffareid »

Zips of savefiles you can download. You'll need to use a savefile editor to get the cd-keys to match. (The cd-key in the zip files is all zeroes).

Save file with Cop Z06 in career (with Silverton left to do if you want) and my cars:

http://jeffareid.net/nfsc/nccz6.zip

Save file with these cars (room for 2 more):

Audi Lemans Quattro
BMW M3 GTR
Koenigsegg CCX
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
Pagani Zonda
Porsche GT3 RS

Chevorlet Corvette Z06
Dodge Viper SRT-10 (installed drift tires)

http://jeffareid.net/nfsc/nccex.zip

Same as above but cars in black. BMW has no vinyl, and Audi has dark side panel.

http://jeffareid.net/nfsc/nccexb.zip

Savegame editor:

http://kickme.to/coderipper

http://www.nfstools.nm.ru

Mirror for savegame editor in case above link don't work in the future:

http://jeffareid.net/nfsc/nfscse.zip

Extract the savegame editor into it's own folder. Run it and browse to:

\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\My Documents\NFS Carbon\ANFSC\ANFSC

then open your savegame directory and file. Mouse over the registration key and use <ctrl>-C to copy it, then click on the savegame key and use <ctrl>-V to paste it into the savegame key. Click on "fix", then "save changes", then exit the savegame editor.

Sorry, it's been so long, things got a bit hectic. You'll need to hex edit a save file and change the vinyl code. There are instructions here on how to do it, but I haven't done it yet myself, and I don't know the code required, but take a look at the editting section.

Oh no.. I'm not going in there. Hexing is almost synonymous to hacking. The last time I hexed, my game kept on crashing and I had to re-install.

Is there any other alternative?

Editting a savefile isn't going to force a re-install, as you can always just use another savegame. I had to hex edit in order to make the "black" cars version, one to switch the code for the side panel to the darker one on the Audi, and another removal of a hex code for the BMW to get rid of the default vinyl. I'll investigate getting the vinyl back on.

Note that hex editting guide for Carbon is a NFS Unlimited wiki, and it's also included in the editting section.

Sorry it took so long to respond. If I figure this out, I'll just make both versions soon.

Actually I downloaded Cparty's savegame. It kept on crashing after the game has been on for like 5 secs. I fixed everything through the Savegame Editor, but no luck. :(

Ok, Darius Audi with the rest of the cars stock. You can customize the cars, paint, spoilers, wheels, ride height.

Hey Jeff, is it possible if you can include Los Colibris' vinyl on the Lancer Evolutuion in the savegame? I can't seem to find that vinyl in the game itself.

I'll have to see if it's listed in the hex editting guide. The hex editting guide explains how to add custom vinyls to any car, you just need an editor that can edit binary files, in this case the savegame.

The standard vinyls take up two parts slots, but most of the custom vinyls take just one part slot. So use or add an existing single part slot (like roof scoop, ...) and change it's code to the vinyl code you want. If you replaced an existing part code, then go back into the game and reinstall that part.

It is there actually.. I just find it a tad too confusing. I gave it a try recently and it was an epic disaster. I'm just not good with doing these sorta things, let alone hacking. :P

It's a texture vinyl, code 4B7D, different than the online Los Colibris normal vinyl. What I did was add a Northwest roof scoop, which is part code B778. I then found that part code somewhere above 28a00, and changed it to the Los Colibris texture vinyl code 4B7D. I then added metallic purple paint to match the crew colors. All of the crew colors seem to be metallic if you want to do this again.

You have to start off with the tuner car in order to see the downtown minor crews, same for exotic and muscle. The minor crews are only there for the initial races then go away. I went through my early saves and here's a list of the minor crews:

Exotic - Fortuna - inferno, rotor4
Muscle - Kempton - blackhearts, scorpios.
Tuner - kings, los colibris

I'm guessing that rival challenges probably include these crews.

Oh, thanks Jeff! I really liked it. I'm so gonna use that car online. :)

Would you perceive me as an irritating SOB if I were to ask you to do the same for Scorpios? I know this may sound dumb, but I actually kinda got Los Colibris mixed up with the latter. Haha! For your reference, this is the vinyl which I actually wanted:

I haven't found any red x vinyls in the game. Scorpios - you want a muscle vinyl on a tuner car? Scorpios crew cars are light blue with blue + white vinyls. So you sure you don't want the Kings (the other minor tuner crew) as opposed to the Scorpios?

Hmm, I'm not sure about the crew vinyls, but I remember the major ones, like TFK's grey and white & Bushido's red and black. For the picture which I posted, I'm not sure which crew is that, but I read it somewhere it is Scorpios, but I'm not sure..

EDIT

I just checked. It is Scorpios as the logo represents, indeed, a scorpion. :)
