lol I think Earl is not too hard to beat......:p
I beated him with Baron's Cayman S.
I think Cayman S is the best car at that time :p

Having just done some testing, it was 231 MPH I hit in the Elise (which is still fast enough IMHO  ). Sorry for the misinformation.

I think 245 must have been when I was playing about with the Carrera GT the other day... but again, don't quote me on that!

The Cayman is the best choice for me , just tune the steering and handling and any car could beat him . . . . . . . .

WTF??? Razor is certainly the hardest...well, atleast for me...

nah razor was easy b/c by the time i got to him my car was pretty much maxed out and a slow beemer isnt going to touch me, earl however your car is nowhere near maxed out and probably the best car for racing him would be the cayman IMHO

I have never struggled with earl on any of the times i've played through the game, I beat him with an Audi A4.

Yea, Cayman is the fastest car at that time. I kept using Cayman S until I got the Lambo from Ming.

My hardest blacklist racer was bull. Then again i was using the ford GT and I couldnt take off as quick as i could have. But earl was easy, to me at least.

Earl wasn't hard to beat, i beat him my first try on all his races (i used a Cayman); i think Razor was the hardest to beat

the drivers were pretty much all easy, i also beat earl on my first try the reason why i said he is because he was the closest one to finish behind me compared to the other blacklist racers

I used that stratgey the 6th time I tried to beat him. He's hard. I just kept hitting his car making it go into traffic, walls, poles, and so on. That and using my nos whenever there was enough for a boost.

After last night, I'm gonna agree with the thread starter. Earl is a pain in the ass. That little Evo moves. I had to do the Speedtrap race about 8 times before beating him, and the Sprint race about 15 times. It's very hard to stay ahead, and once you do he is very good at getting around you. Lots of switching back and forth from the behind view. Gave my little Eclipse a work out it won't soon forget, not even my quicker RX-8 couldn't cut it after 3 tries at the Speedtrap.

All that said, I got the bastard's Evo now so I hold the power :)

I got his EVO after beatting him, but it has only 5 gears which is not good.:(
You need the Ultimate Trans part to make it 6 gears, but that part won't come out until u beat Webster(BL#5)........

I looked into the forums earlier, and was scared to face Earl.

But I beat him rather easily in Baron's Porsche upgraded with NOS Level 2, and Junkman Sway Bars. In the speedtrap he didn't seem to cheat and I beat him on the second try, because I crashed near the end and had to restart. In the sprint, I kept close with him and didn't let him pass, and then went through the Pursuit Breaker near about 85% of the race, which disabled Earl's car. I drove poorly the rest of the course because I was worried, trying not to crash, but won.

Default rules. Game version 1.3. I'm certain that Catchup in this title is "lighter" than in underground. It is there alright. All drivers always arrange themselves into a group by accelerating faster, crashing or braking. But it's "sneakier", and you can't tell if you really drove worse, or they were made to catch up.

I agree. The track that played for me was the "slowly...." (Disturbed - "Decadence"). It's an "epic" rock composition, which sounds like the end of the world is nigh. This track played for me in later races too, and I discovered that it stops from going too fast, not because of the word "slowly", but the peaceful mood, where nothing else around matters anymore. I can concentrate and feel "safe", which the game absolutely does not want me to feel.

Going as fast as I can will only end up with me crashing into walls, and cause the enemy go faster. This is what usually happens. But it's great when it doesn't, like in this race. 8)

Toshiro wrote:Sometimes, drifting around a corner is easier than simply driving around. I found that to be helpful many times.
Drifting in every corner just slowens your car, if you try that, it would greatly reduce your speed that you have 50% chance of winning instead of 80% chance or let's just say 100%. And it would not help you to beat Earl. So I'm not recommending this tip. So sorry to Toshiro about this reply.

Try as hard as you can.I f you are stil unable to beat him, then download the trainer.Get a lot of cash using it.upgrade all parts for a good car.Mine had infinite nitro, speed breaker too.

sorry for bad english!!!
