Would Like To Finish The Game, But....

It's getting too difficult!

I'm stuck with opponent #6 on the blacklist, Hector Domingo (Ming).
I have seven race wins and plenty of bounty, but only three of the four required milestones. The milestones at this level in the game are getting quite ridiculous in their difficulty. Kudos to anyone who has completed them.
Examples: Tag 22 police cars, get though 10 police roadblocks, or four police spike-strip roadblocks, c'mon, give me a break!!

I think I already know the answer to my question, but is there any way to get past these gameblocks? I want Ming's Lambo real bad, I just need one more milestone. grrrr!

Thanks

PS: I've tried hex editing my save game (Black Edition) but it doesn't work. I am guessing that there is a checksum or something similar in the saved game preventing it from being hacked.

what's the dificulty on that??

my advice to you is:get to heat level 4 and you should have no problems doing those milestones...but you better have a car that is with all the available performance parts in order for it to handle against the heat 4 cops.

and never forget that you can work to get 2milestones in one action;for instance, ram two cars in a roadblock and you'll be workinf for the tags milestone and and the roadblocks/spikes milestone

it's not the idea of being busted...it's not the idea!

just make sure to do as much damage as u can to the police, or try to spend long times, etc etc...obviously avoiding being busted ;) 8)

22 cars tagged? 10 road blocks? 4 spike strips? Shouldn't be a problem

Edit: this was at level 5 heat..

none of the milestones you had to get in the game were hard, they were just long.

Last night I was able to get past Ming.

First, let me say that I love this game. It's possibly the most enjoyable racing game I've ever played.

Very impressive Cento_1307!
The most police car hits I have been able to get before getting busted is only about 10. I need a bus station to hide in every few miles. :)
My max on busting through roadblocks is about four or five.

FYI, I use a maxed-out and lowered Evo for attempting the milestones.

Perhaps it's because I use the keyboard as my controller,
perhaps it's my over-50 reflexes,
perhaps I'm very uncoordinated,
perhaps ....

I'll keep plugging away, but I think I'm about done being able to knock off any more blacklist drivers.

Okay, then... Evo is a nice start, set-up is key... First off slam it to the ground and max out your down force, rest of the settings I use are steering +4, handling +2 or +3 (depending on tyres), nitros -5, turbo +5.

I tend to keep to the freeways dipping into the town areas when I get about 6 cops on my tail and head for a pursuit breaker, you seem to get more road blocks on the freeway and it's much harder to get trapped if you hit a roadblock wrong. when I get down to about 3 cop cars in pursuit I tend to loop back and forward to wipe out an entire road block or until backup arrives

Well what I can suggest u is:
Just keep driving fast and keep an eye on the map(to see where the roadblocks are located). If u stopped, the cops are most likely going to surround u and u will have no way out(if u are in higher heat levels)

Thanks for the tips guys!

I got past Blacklist Member 5, Webster. This is definitely as far as I can go with this game. The good news is, that I found a saved game of someone who finished NFSMW so I have access to all the cars, including the BMW to drive around. :)

I may replay the game and try and get all of the pinks slips instead of the parts mods.

I hope NFS Carbon will have selectable difficulty levels.

Practise, practise, practise. I didn't really have a big problem with the milestones, except that they took a long time. The key to succesfully ramming enough cars, is to just keep circling the map, sticking to the freeways. When you start getting a bit overwhelmed by the number of cops in puruit, head in and tag a pursuit breaker, then head back into the open

The tollbooths and the photo tickets are preventing me from going any further. I have no car that I can drive fast enough to beat those. I think my slow video board and my slow reflexes are holding me back at this point. I can upgrade the video board, but not the reflexes. LOL

I just replay the game against the easier blacklist opponents. No prob. It's still fun!

Thanks

what car are u using????
You just defeated Ming, did u get his Lambo???
If u get his Lambo, u just need to install Ultimate Nitrous, then....u can just simply use the Lambo until the end of the game :p

Have u used the NFS9-optimizer to disable the things like "motion blur","particle system"???

I edited my registry at the beginning of the game to get rid of the motion blur. It was a HUGE help.

I crash into stuff too much to be able to do any of the high-speed racing. I use a relatively slow Audi TT for my races against opponents.

Some wonderful person wrote a "trainer" that I just started to use. So far it has helped me get to the final races against the #4 guy - which is an alt-tab away at the moment.
Trainer for teh win! :D

Getting the milestones in the game is rather easy, it's pursuit evasion that's the real problem (especially at heat 4 and 5). I used to have all sorts of problems with pursuits, but now I can survive a heat 5 pursuit for up to 45 minutes, immobilize 200+ vehicles, about 15,000,000 bounty, and evade anytime I want.

Some tips:

Speedbreaker is your friend, it slows down time enough so you can make quick decisions (plan a route through a roadblock, find the spikestrip). It also adds extra mass and friction to your car, if a heat 5 car tries to push you off the road, speedbreaker will stop that. Speedbreaker is invaluable for smashing through roadblocks, you won't spin out half as much, and will probably obliterate the car you hit. Also, hit the police vehicles in the rear.

Evasion is usually done by hitting lots of pursuit breakers in a row (the route from the bus station to the stadium is my favourite pursuit breaker route). You'll be drastically lowering the amount of vehicles chasing you (one way or the other) and getting high bounty. Pursuit breakers can even take out the chopper (sometimes). A very good spot for ending pursuits is the stadium (approx top left of the map), it has 2 pursuit breakers that immoblize everything chasing you, and a handy hiding spot that is out of sight of the chopper.

Another spot to try is the underground tunnel in the city (find it in free roam), it has a pursuit breaker, hiding spot, is out of sight of the chopper, and no cops roam down there in cooldown mode. Best used when there's only a few cops on your tail.

Good luck.

Using the Speedbreaker is a good idea :)
For me, when I see a roadblock(if it is at least 2 seconds away), I just use Nitrous and speed up, then just simply find a target(cop car) and hit the rear side. If there's a traffic car(such as taxi, van, NOT Garbage truck!!) right in front of the roadblock, then I just hit the traffic car and push it through the roadblock.
I use the pursuit breakers only when there's more cops on my tail. Gas station is my favourite place~~~:p

With this trainer, getting busted is a thing of the past! The only thing I still have to avoid is the spikes - or I loose almost all steering control.

I like trying to disable the police cars by smashing into them, or blowing them up at a gas station, or getting the big donut or any other objects to fall on them.

I was not aware of any pursuit busters at the stadium. I'll go have a look.

This trainer has given me a chance (although slim) to finish the game.

When in pursuits, I usually use the Rockport highway like a loop to help me if I am in a huge pursuit. They usually set roadblocks everywhere on the highway, just be careful for spikes.

The stadium is a big help to me. There is a place on the highway where you can just jump to the stadium enterence. Go into the stadium as fast as you can. You will see a sign held by a crane. Use that to jump back to the highway. Most of the cops won't make the jump.

I used to play around on the highway too.....
but.....if u want to increase your bounty faster, u need to mess around in the city and hit more pursuit breakers.......just let about 10 cops to follow u first, then head to one of the pursuit breakers(gas station is an excellent choice)

EVO's right on that one. Find a nice string of pursuit breakers, zoom off to another part of the map and loop back in time to hit the pursuit breakers again.

The annoying thing is when you're down to just 1 cop car, you have to wait a minute and a half without losing him before you get a new batch of PCs to destroy.

The highway is the best way for roadblock and spikestrip milestones, as well as the speeding infractions.

Yep, exactly what i did. I used to cruise around on the main highway.. past the golf course etc. then when i had plenty of cops shoot off just before stadium and find piggy's donuts (or whatever it was called). That area's had heaps of breakers.
