That was also my number one concern for the game. Oh man... shocking controls. And to make it worse, they give you about 12 other useless (crapper) control configurations to choose from under the controller options. Who on earth accelerates using the circle button?Racin_Penguin wrote:Oh, and another thing, who the hell decided for the triangle button to be look back? I don't know what the controls are for Xbox/360 or gamecube, but triangle is just about the worst button for looking back. You either have to take your thumb off the gas, lowering your speed, and push it to look back. Or you have to use the side of your index finger. And to make it even worse, you can't customize the controls...
I don't know about you guys, but that is the thing that irritates me the most.
Stupid details

Then she does that skanky walk of hers. Ugh, I hate it when EA tries to put sexuality in the NFS series...
But they did do a good job with Def Jam: FFNY, I'll give em' that.

Not true.Racin_Penguin wrote:-Police only come after you.
When you're in Sprints, Circuits or Speedtrap, and when the cops are dispatched, they do go for other racers as well. I've seen it before. There will be other cops chasing other racers. When one particular cop is gonna chase you, the game usually stops everything that's going on and points out to where the cop had found you from his position.
Really?? I've never seen 'em running over the spikes.Racin_Penguin wrote:-And police cars are immune to spike strips.

Oh yeah, its happened to me many times. If I'm speedin' along and at the last second I shove the cop into the strip, he just goes right over it and continues chasing me. And theres been numerous other times when I even get a really close up look at it, they definetely don't effect the police...
And with the cops coming only after you ordeal, it just looks like they are after the others, but they are actually just going in front of you to try and box you in, sort of. Well, all I know is that when you're racing and say you're in 3rd place, the police on the radio will only state your car and only chase you.
In Hot Pursuit 2, they stated the other cars' names and actually pursued them.
I'm not completely sure, I'll test that theory some more...

Yes, this is true. But this only happens when you're in either heat 4 or 5, where the main department will say 'a possible wanted suspect', then they'll chase you. otherwise the radio will just say 'street racers'.Racin_Penguin wrote:Well, all I know is that when you're racing and say you're in 3rd place, the police on the radio will only state your car and only chase you.

- 1. Since when did the Blacklist members, Izzy (RX - 8 ), Jewels (Mustang), & Kaze (CLK) turn men? I mean look at the driver when racing against them and you will find out that they have just changed genders!!!
2. After you beat Jewels, Ronnie sends a voice message that tells you "it was easy to beat HIM (meaning the blacklist member) while Jewels is a girl...Not boy....

One thing that always gets on my nerves about this game is that the engine wait is overdone. 2 examples.
1. You hit the front of a police car its sends you back. You hit the back of a police car and the car goes flying 20 feet in the air.
2. You take the jumps by the prison and have the time you car flips forward.

you could be the cop? (I dont mean the PSP)Racin_Penguin wrote:Another arcade look MW has is when you're driving a police car, all they do is just give you the car just as it is in the game. So supposedly, you're dressed as a cop that never moves his arms to steer.

well, when you get busted, and your not in heat level one, the car you get put in when the cam shows is the heat x1 cruizer.
another stupid detail is that cops commit suicide. ive seen about 2 seconds after
hitting a pb, a cop will be driving normally, and when the come near the dounut, gas station, roof or whatever, then they spin out as a smashed police car.

Yeah they can seem pretty stupid at times, its usually when you're at the highest heat levels when they just go all out to stop you and drive anywhere they can and usually they'll just drive into the pursuit breakers themselves if you miss it.
No, you do a few tollbooth races in police cars(crown vic, GTO, and Corvette) in some of the challange series events. And EA just took the cop car and had you be able to control it, so you can see the interior and it is a police man sitting in the driver seat with his arms glued to the steering wheel.Saeidi wrote:you could be the cop? To my knowledge none of these people are ex porn stars. Derrick Hamilton/Razor has been in a few semi well known movies. Josie Maran has been in a few movies but shes not well known, even after this game she won't be. Dean Mackensie/Cross has been in a couple of movies I've seen although I don't remember him.

Hey, welcome back for some more of Saeidi's Visual Observations of EA's "Amazing" Details
- 1. We all have noticed that cops don't like to say the names of their favorite cars (ever heard em say Cobalt or Chevy for the Cobalt SS? Nope!
2. We work hard on beating them, they just never die! you notice (Rockport city has the most number of cop cars in the whole universe-yes I know, even more than Jupiter and the Sun, where crime never stops!

why is the cobalt their favorite car
but you are right the Cobalt is the only car that for some reason is not named, the Vauxhall Monaro VXR and the Fiat Punto are named "SPORTSCAR" but for the cobalt there is simply no name .... pretty weird actually..
BTW not only the cops are stationary in the car you (driver) are also not animated, weird cause older nfs games had moving drivers, NFS 4 was the first with a hand moving driver (and head moved when other cars pased (or when you moved your mouse over the screen in the car menu) NFS 5 had a fully animated driver that steered the car shifted and used the horn. can't remember atm how NFS 6 was.
