NFSU2: how do you unlock Sponsor Vinyls?

Topic. I keep getting stymied out of 100%, this is the only thing I can find that isn't done.

I thing u can unlock only 1 Sponsor Vinyl.
When i start NFS U2 allways i heave unlock EDGE vinyl

I dont know why ( But u need to start with Mazda Miata mX5 )

The only way to unlock sponsor vinyls is by using the MX5? That doesn't make much sense.

No man ... U need to install all parts unloked on car ... then u go to Paint Shop and try to buy a Sponsor Vinyl ( To me is work that )

Um... your English is much better than my Romanian. I still don't think I'm clear on this though. I went to the Specialties and Body shops and installed the last part in every category on my already ten star car, then went to the paint shop- Sponsor Vinyls are still locked.

Ok first of all you need to know that this guys IS hard to understand. Second, welcome to the forum!

About ur question, try to race as many outruns as you can. Get also in SUV races to check if you have completed them.
If you don't mind, you can also use the "cheats" to unlock for example Chingy's vynil, etc.

Thanks. So, is is outruns that will unlock them, or SUV races? I've done the SUV races every time, but never in an SUV- does it make a difference?

I've already read that, and it doesn't say anywhere how to unlock Sponsor Vinyls. I did a search as well, before I even registered. I didn't find the answer. As of right now, I still don't know it. And for the record, there is an error in that link.

All I want to do is get 100%. I've beat the game many times, and always just short of 100%. I'm at 99%, and the only thing I haven't done (that I know of) is unlock Sponsor Vinyls. I have no intention of using them, but there must be something I have to do to unlock them that I haven't been doing.

if you want 100% you need to do ALL races from previous stages and outruns

OK, here's a rundown of what I've done every time I "beat the game":

Every race in every stage on the World Map in the garage

20/20 magazine and 10/10 DVD covers

8/8 Unique Parts won from outrun races (30 outrun races total)

I don't remember how many sponsors I usually sign, so if there are a certain number I'm supposed to cram in that could be it... but I doubt it. I'm pretty good about fulfilling my sponsor obligations ASAP.

Maybe its just a glitch? Try uninstalling then re-installing. I had sponsor vinyls unlocked shortly before I finished that game.

I probably should have mentioned that I have this on PS2. I'm used to GameFAQs, where it's just a given since I'm only on PS2 boards there.

Or use of a trainer only!
Sponsors Vinyls are End Game Bonuses like BMW in NFS/MW

So they don't contribute to 100%? I'm thinking right now it's either hidden races that disappear when you unlock the next stage so you never get them on the world map, and/or not completing all the outruns until there's no one left to race before unlocking the next stage. I've started yet another game, and I'm playing it to that effect- but I've only found maps for the hidden races in the intro and stages 1-3. Are there no hidden races in stages 4 & 5?
