Nfs Undergorund 2 Confusing Lan Mode

I played Nfs few years ago in a lan party , where i have to keep a minimum distance with other player instead of racing. I loved that mode very much. but i am now confused that is that mode actually in Hot Pursuit or Underground 2 . and what is that mode called.
