Idea for inserting the acura RSX into european version.
Idea for inserting the acura RSX into european version.
HI, just surfing thru the utils and saves section I came across a savegame by Peppiof
which lets you start your career with an acura rsx... I was just wondering if he or some kind american rsion user would please upload somewhere the car folder, so that using this savegame we europeans could drive the RSX.
I think it would work, because it is basically the way those italian guys made their car changer...
Waddaya say?

I'm going to be outspoken here, but hey, that's me.
Why the hell do we need the RSX and Civic in the European version of the game? We've already got the best car IMHO.
I've just started using the Pugeot 106 GTI (a car I absolutely despise in real life, BTW)and my God, it absolutely rules in the game. I know its a bit unrealistic, but this car is more driveable than almost any other car! Or maybe I'm just better with it? Either way, this is quickly becoming my car of choice!!!

1) Because I like it!!!DarrenR21373 wrote:Why the hell do we need the RSX and Civic in the European version of the game?
2) Overall is by far a more beautiful car than the corsa & 106
3) My intention is to insert it, not replacing any car.
4)C'mon... the more cars in the game the better... isn't it so?

I agree wholeheartedly that the more cars the better. This was one of the major disappointing factors for me of this game - most the the cars tuned in the UK (and I guess Europe as a whole) are not in the game!! EA have a studio in Chertsey, Surrey FFS and they could easily have done some research into cars that are actually used. I've NEVER seen a modded Lexus IS200/300 (over here they tend to be company cars!) or ANY Lincoln Navigators or Cadilac Escalades at all, but I've seen shed loads of modded Ford Escorts & Fiestas & Capris, Fiat Puntos & 500's & 600's, Renault 5's & Clios, Vauxhall Astras, Calibras & Cavaliers & Vectras & Opel Mantas, and BMW 3 & 5 series. And, of course, Honda Civics. SUV's (if we must have them!) should have included the Range Rover, Land Rover (Bowler Wildcat - 'king sweet!), Toyota RAV4, Vauxhall Frontera and Isuzu Trooper as well as the 3 American buses.
My only comment was that having used the RSX in NFSU1, I found it cornered like an oil tanker, and therefore I don't miss it. I DO miss the Integra though, as it was my favourite circuit car. I guess, since these are pretty much the same car (or so I've heard!) it's just one more example of where EA effed up.
And if you don't have the Corsa, you are missing out on one of the best cars in the game IMHO.

Man, you can trust me. In real life that car is a bomb!!! (tiny pheraps, but always a tiny bomb! ) and the performance given by the dyno are quite exact (just 5kmh lower)DarrenR21373 wrote:I've just started using the Pugeot 106 GTI (a car I absolutely despise in real life, BTW)and my God, it absolutely rules in the game. btw,
@wolfheart: I don't think you can add car but only replace them unfortunly
There's a file in the utils section of the site that adds the civic to the euro version of the game and it works a treat. You just need to add the Civic folder into the Cars directory and use a save game that starts you off in the Civic (as the car cant be bought from the lot).
I was thinking I could try something similiar if someone could provide me the RSX folder from inside the Cars directory in the US version of the game, there's already a couple of save game files around for starting off in the car so it's just a case of putting them together, I hope.
So if anyone could provide the zipped RSX folder from the US NFSU2 so I can try it out, it would be much appreciated

Well... That's just the reason and the idea why I started this topic... read the first postkronnos wrote:I was thinking I could try something similiar if someone could provide me the RSX folder from inside the Cars directory in the US version of the game, there's already a couple of save game files around for starting off in the car so it's just a case of putting them together, I hope.

And...please american users out there...upload anywhere the rsx folder plz!!!!
The IS300 is a model of the Toyota Altezza, which Nobuteru Taniguchi drives very well in the D1GP curcuit. In the USA, Escalades are the bling bling dubmobile of choice by rich rappers and the Navigator is just a similarly priced alternative.DarrenR21373 wrote: I've NEVER seen a modded Lexus IS200/300 (over here they tend to be company cars!) or ANY Lincoln Navigators or Cadilac Escalades at all.
look closer mate the Lexus IS tuned in the UK!DarrenR21373 wrote:I agree wholeheartedly that the more cars the better. this is a Toyota Altezza (same as the LEXUS) scroll a few cars down and you will see it.

(it is a site from a nice shop in the UK that sales performance parts for toyota's!
the RSX is infact the NEW Integra. it is still called the HONDA integra in Japan (also imported in the UK!)DarrenR21373 wrote:My only comment was that having used the RSX in NFSU1, I found it cornered like an oil tanker, and therefore I don't miss it. That Honda Integra Type R is gorgeous. I want one!! Not so keen on the RSX, don't know why, I think it's the colour though!
So, another car to add to NFSU3 (Euro version) then!
Oh and back to the Lexus - cheers for clearing that up Stig - I still haven't seen any tuned ones on the road here though - mind you, in the South of England, we seem to tune up BMWs and even Mercedes more - I've seen quite a few Brabus and AMG Mercs recently (very very expensive motors!)

if it was up to me... the new Integra would be the one...
and for some reason I like the Toyota Altezza more then when it is a LEXUS weird eh?
as said same for the Integra/RSX... Rather have the Integra then the RSX
but the problem is... we got left hand drive and the Integra is Right hand drive (JAPAN and UK import)

i agree with the stig
remember that japanese versions are intended for japan only. example, the Mazda brand of RX7 is called "Efini" in Japan... though its the same car
i see a lot of japanese verions here since we have a right-hand drive system like in the UK and in Japan, so a lot of Japanese-intended cars end up in our market like: toyota yaris (eu) = toyota vitz (jp).

No, man, the changer just allows to insert the civic into the european version (tho it allos both corsa & 106 on the american).
Anyways, my old friends from carmageddon times already gave me the rsx folder, and combining it with a savegame it works great.
Next step should be making them available for buying at car lots, and making them selectable by the computer to have as rivals.

I can mod a Civic in the UK version in "Customize" using the Car Changer, without a save game file.
All you have to do is get a crack of the US exe (use 1.1, 1.3, etc. depending on your current patched version). The Civic is available by default, but the Corsa and 106 wont be available. So run the original exe if you want to mod them.
I guess the US version would work the same way for the Corsa and 106 using a UK crack!
I reckon the RSX would work in the UK version if you use this method as well, can anyone try it to see if it works? (I dont have the RSX files, and only have dial-up)
Thanks.
