i have already beaten the game a couple of times, but am wondering what you guys think the best car to start the game with is? (I have u.s versian.)

i say the AE86 once it's tuned you'll beat everyone

The Miata and 240 both served me well. They can't quite match the handling of the AE86, but they're more powerful, which counts for something, depending on your skill level (then again, I haven't tried starting with the AE86, so I don't know if the lack of power is a problem, although I doubt it is).

240sx for me.

Yeah, tuned Corolla is a monster, not a car

MX-5 Miata. No other car responds better to first mods and has better handling.
But will need to be swapped later in the game though because on drift it is hazardous and difficult to control.
I use it to drift on the streets though because thats the only way I can be fast through a corner.

Pug 106, corsa or Corolla (tuned)

240sx, its pretty good all around

my mx5 has never failed me..but i dont recommend it for drag races unless its highly tuned

im playin ug2 through for the 1st time...and i got the miata...i dont rlly have the heart to swap it because it already has a lot of uniques on it...the amount of oversteer it has annoys the crap outta me sometimes though....i am thinking of swapping it for a corolla...<shrug>

ya dude, i love the civic, but the problem is, its to good, it wastes everyone until about stage 4 and 5, so i want something not so good to challenge me a bit, at the momnet im using the miata, then at stage 3 ima get the golf.

Or download a car starter save game from the download section and start over with a 3000GT or Mustang or another car that you like

Totally agree. I began with it in NFSU1 and NFSU2 and I'll use in MW I love that car. (until I saw a lancer 8. )

I've said it before and I'll say it again. IMHO the best car to start with is the Vuxhall/Opel Corsa. Wipes the floor with anything if properly tuned.
