Post by James31278 »

Has anyone else got a virus warning on the RX-7 car changer for NFSU2?

No infections in my one. Maybe you got the car changer from somewhere other than us?

There is only one site I know that has it, this one. I haven't looked anywhere else. I downloaded it more than once to be sure.

Well after my anti virus caught it, it denied access to the file totally. Just set your firewall to cut off internet access from these programs, that should keep you safe. As long as they can't communicate with the net they are pretty much harmless.

It seems like norton antivirus is the only antivirus that finds a trojan there. We have tried it with many other (up to date I might add) antivirs and nothing was found. Not to mention that nobody has complained up till about a month ago...

I used to get a trojan warning a while back, I'm using AVG Anti-virus. I guess it has something to do with the fact that these trainers/modifiers all affect the functions of another running program; a common characteristic for a trojan horse.

Hence, heuristics may incorrectly detect the files as trojans since they behave in a similar fashion.

Haven't gotten the warnings lately though, after a couple of updates to AVG have been released.

We're not complaining, discussing it. The programs might have the characteristics or they might be infected. every other program doesnt say trojan though just these two. Toobad only the one car changer was made.

Funny, i have AVG. updated regularly too. haven't had a virus from this site from anything. before you open it though it's best to scan the .zip with your scanner. if nothing is detected open it, extract the program, then scan the program. if something is deteced, don't run the program and delete it. if nothing is deteced run it and see if something gets detected.

My norton instantly detected the trojan when I did a system scan. Now when I download it, Norton automaticly detects it and isolates it.
