The best TJ upgrade to drag

Post by hansip87 »

What's the best combination of TJ's upgrade to speed up the car? Is it:
- Transmission/ECU/Turbo
- Engine/ECU/Turbo
- Engine/Transmission/ECU
- ECU/Turbo/NOS
- Engine/NOS/Transmission
- or else?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Just choose the parts what you want. If you want speed choose acceleration en speed parts. If you want control you choose handeling parts. If you want a bit of everything choose a acceleration parts a speed part and a handeling parts.

That's the same tj parts that i have :D . But this combination is best for drag players. In circuit you can beter choose one handeling parts instead of nos if you are a circuit player.

I still believe the best one is Engine/ECU/NOS.

Here's the pic comparing 3 Peugeots with different upgrade sets. Peugeot is taken for purpose, because even being 100% tuned, it doesn't reach highest marks. I think this dependence can be applied to any car.

I have Transmission/ECU/NOS, which works pretty well. But Engine/ECU/NOS, or Turbo/ECU/Nos, must be good aswell.

engine ecu nos i thought was good, but then ur putting too much power on ur wheels, therefore, spinning off the start instead of putting power down on the road like ur supposed to.. a tranny is better...

What about Weight Reduction? It should give you better acceleration, speed, and probably also handling. Could somebody try WR/ECU/NOS?

i have to agree with the tran/ecu/nos although i can get about the about same times with trans/turbo/nos. I think that a tranny is a must have in the configuration because of the smoother take-off.

eng/tran/Nos is the last combo I tried and I got my lowest time in 14th & vine reverse 19.51 compared to my low in eng/ecu/nos of 19.71 ... I'll keep trying different combos.

This is not on topic - the topic is about the best TJ parts to use for drag. And no - the unique won't make your car any lower than the regular suspension settings.

IMO, the best drag uniques must be engine, trans, nos...

i do agree with GT3, i tried different combinations, and the best is engine/transmission/nos. All my best drag time by s2000 using this combination. with this combo, u can get perfect shift on first gear easier, coz the movement of the arrow was more stable.

BTW, my best 14th and vine was 19.48sec...

Yup, plus the shifts are faster with unique tranny, letting you get the power back to the ground sooner...

I don't care what one I use, as long as they make my car go fast. By the way, I treated myself to a RX7 in underground mode and it is really quick! I don't think it will be able to beat Eddie, though!!

heres the truth about all of these uniques, yada yada yda.... ok the these are the two essential tjs that u need -tranny and nos- for the third one, u can bsaically use EITHER ECU or ENG or TURB. either way u can hit 18s with that... for me personaly, using ecu is easiest to use esp if ur just new... but engine is my preference. cause i run 18.8s wit 5/6 with that combo :D oh yea, now im ranked somewhere in the low 50s for drag, and my focus has turned to sprint mode now :)
