C'mon, what is this? That's an awful idea. At least give these suspected downraters the right to an appeal. A forum post, then a pm, a final warning, then a ban when all else fails.

Ban them straight up and you get your asses the guy will be right back with a new email, a new nick and a real sour taste in his mouth. This idea will increase the practice - not decrease it! The trick is to make 'em realise that there are real people behind the cars they're dissing., by having it out with them in open forum.

as long as you can vote 1s you can't ban one for doing it...

maybe count the votes one gives (like multiple 1s and get a waring or so)

dunno if that is possible with a prog...

what superracer meant was downvoters that we know for sure were downvoting for there own gain or to just weewee people off.

I wonder why you'd be against that. Viper said exactly what SuperRacer said. person who votes 1 is a not a downvoter, who votes one's consistently - is a downvoter. And as soon as there is one - everyone knows about it. I think the mod can just send him a PM, and if he continues, ban him right away. Why are you protecting these ... erm.. users? Comes back with a sour taste in his mouth? hell I hope he chokes on it.

Oh ok, that's not how the SR's post came off to me. If there's enough evidence of downrating around that you mods are certain, I see no problem in an immediate ban. Hell, that's precisely what moderators are expected to do - moderate.

I want to add that we can see for all the votes a user made anywhere in the showroom. We also see the ip which the user had for each vote. So downvoters are really easy to spot.

This has been discussed many times now and seems like I must point out once again that it is not forbidden to vote 1s or 10s (weird how come nobody complains for upvoting).

However if a user votes 10s and 1s only to cars that are on the top 5 with the sole intent of downvoting, he will get warned and his votes deleted.

And don't forget you don't see the whole picture. If somebody does give a 1 to 3 cars or even more, that means nothing.

Bobyx pointed out something very true, what happens to all the ppl running around voting 10's? Cuz I know I never realized that.
