gameplay videos???

how do you make a gameplay video like the ones on the need for speed underground site? I don't want to be able to edit the videos, all i want to do is have it save a video file of my race, is there some kind of program that does it, or do i have to hook my computer up to the tv and record using the vcr??? :?: :?: :?:
