Questions about the next NFS game

Post by Bojan »

We were given an opportunity to get a list of questions about the next Need for Speed game answered. So come up with questions and the best will be sent to EA.

What cars will it have?
Is it focusing on the street racing approach (like nfsu) or is it the Ferrari & Lamborghini sport cars (like in NFS; HP2)?
Or is it a totally new approach to cars??

I'd like to know :
-whether we'll have weather effects like rain/sun/cloudy/fog.
-If there will be a damage model preventing us to survive a full frontal with a 2 ton truck ...
-if the performances will be more realistic ...
-if the handling will be more simulative than NFSU, or more arcade (if possible)

Hmm...
  • Will there be a replay mode?
Will there be a visible/performance affecting damage model?
Will online cheating be better addressed?
Will multiple platform online support be continued?
How will car customisation be extended/enhanced?
Will there be new game modes, eg free roam, added?
Will there be new game elements, eg cops, added?
How will career mode be extended/enhanced?

    ...and plenty more... :D

will dedicated server packages be released? in order not to go through the hassle of logging on to EA.com and having an option of using 3rd party server browsers.
(ofcourse this will be 'Unranked Play' for security reasons)

the fans are just aching to add their talent to the game and show off to their friends.

I completely agree with orvnahum_ with the need of a sdk.

Look at NFS:HS, more than 2700 NFS4 Cars are available.

Furthermore, building our own track will help adjusting cars performance (is the car understeer, oversteer, speed, acceleration, etc) more easily to match real perfs.

My 1st question go to the computer generated traffic. Will it be as worst as in NFS 7? there's nothing more frustrating that having a car apearing at the same place every lap. NFS Porshe is better in this than NFS:U and NFS:HP2.

Will it be restricted to night racing?
Will it be restricted to one town?
Will they keep the drag and drift modes? I think these events were good ideas.
Will we be able to have ghost/replays and the ability to save them? The video were very useful to learn techniques and paths others used.
Replays in online/networked game would be a plus.

Does adding a front bumper/Rear wing change the car driving style?
Does adding paints and decals will change the car's weight? :o)

Did the developers considerate the survey's answers?

ooh yeah the Traffic starts to bugg me more every time... I finally found out what, and how it generates the traffic on you driving but still I can't always dodge em.... they need to make a real random traffic.... I rather have it every where then JUST on the Pressure Points

Heres a good one IMO:
Are they going to take their time or are they going to push it out the door as fast as possable as with the past two NFS titles?

I prefer quality and features over eye candy and an earlier release date any day...

ability to tune the sound of the motor is definately a VERY VERY VERY cool one. At least the from the low burble to some supercharger whining or smth, or turbo whistle and boxter notes in Subaru. because apart from Skyline, rest of the cars all sound very similar.
