Post by Stereo »

What program could I use to capture videos of me playing games. I don't want to use FRAPS because it doesn't work for me. So is there any other program I can use????? :?: :?: I really want to show people how I play. Please answer on this topic.

Hi Stereo,

I did a little search for you and found a program you can use to record video's.
It is named: Camtasia Studio. You can download a 30-day trial @ http://www.screencorder.com/download/studiodefault.asp

There are two minor things:
1: the filesize is 19.7MB.
2: the video output is *.avi.

I did a little test: 8 seconds video was 240kb.

If you think the video output file ( ) is to large to share on the internet, use virtualdub to compress the file.
Download Virtualdub @ http://www.virtualdub.org/download

If you have broadband and download this program, I guess you don't want a trial version. Just let me know so I can mail you a keygen.

Oh yes, the reason why fraps probably doesn't work for you is that you need a high end computer to play the game and in the same time record a video.

You can download "tmpgenc plus" here: http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tp.html

To koffy: I think tmpgenc works a lot better then virtualdub!! :)

From the web site:
Encodes AVI file into MPEG-1/2 format
■Wizard mode
■Create MPEG for DVD-Video, SVCD, or VCD easily
■New 2passVBR encoding engine
■Adjusting size, aspect ratio etc.
■Multiplex/De-multiplex Video/Audio stream and many more features in this software encoder!
I guess it makes videos ;)

It does not capture video I think, but it can convert many video formats into MPEG, you can change the sound source to other (add the music you like for example) and you can conver to different quealities of mpeg.
