The CAMERA VIEW

I am starting this just to see what people use, as I am curious what gives the best gaming experience to the majority here. Some people mentioned they miss the cockpit view. So I added that "what if" part as well. Oh, and by referring to the cockpit quality – I would consider a Colin McRae Rally 4 style.

Is Colin McRae Rally 04 nice...??
Haven't got the game yet..., but by the looks of it, it should be a great game...
Have you got the game??

well, I have a friend with PS2 (I don't own a console), who's got CMR4. It's very good, the sound inside of a cockpit is amazing, and if you happened to watche the live coverage of rally GB - that's what it's like. The game is way better than WRC3, which is disappointing.

I have to be able to see all of my car, and what it looks like taking a turn :)

So i say, Chase close, or Chase far. It depends on what track i'm driving on :)

I prefer Chase far. I haven't used the dashboard view since NFS3.

Well, like I wrote, it depends on what track i'm driving on :)

But yeah, Chase far is the best :)

I like the cockpit view. I always played the chase far, but since games like NFSPU, TOCA and CMR4 I will eventually switch to cockpit, cuz it gives most realism and, I repeat, when done right, it's very rewarding experience. It's also a matter of a good game engine.
For example, when I play F1 Challenge 99-02 it's always cockpit view. Speed perception is terrific.
So yeah, I wish they had kept the dash...

With good game engine you can feel your car just as good, plus it's more realistic.

Anyone knows if there is a topic around this forum on Graphic Cards, PC performance and such? I have some issues with the game I want to ask, but can't find a topic on it. A link would be great (I know there was one, I saw it a while ago)

What's your question?

A link to TOPIC on this forum on graphic compatability problems, etc.

My NFS doesn't play smooth (stutters) at 1280x1024, and I want to know why that's happening.
My PC spec is AthlonXp Barton 2500+, 1Gb Ram, Radeon 9500Pro vid card.

Make sure you are running only necessary programs in the background while playing.
These are the only icons I have when I play NFSU:

well, i got this, and it's not much..

I really doubt it's the programs you're running in the background. You're probably playing at too large resolution.
With details set to higher than my gfx can hold I get stuttering no matter how many apps running in the background.

May be you are right, just RalliSportChallenge, which is very demanding on graphics played smooth on the same machine and at 1280-1024. So I guess high res on NFSU isn't for me.
Thanks though.

Sorry for replying this old topic, but I think it is better than creating a new one ;)

in nfsu, drift mode, there is a special camera which allows you to view better the top of the car. An "helicopter camera". If you use this camera and then change to drag mode, the camera is still running!! but if you change the camera mode, then helicopter mode disappears...

is it possible to edit that thing? I want to use it whenever I want, cause I like too much the helicopter view. Thanks :)
