I am trying to install NFS High Stakes,I got the setup to run in Win95 compatibility and it runs fine until it asks,"Do you want a shortcut to be added to your desktop?" I clikced yes and no a few times and it loads something then just stops doing anything and doesn't finish. And I never get to install it again until I log off and back in. NFSCars is not helping,can you?

first thing u can try is make sure u have deleted all the nfs files from ur previous installation. after uninstalling goto ur find all files and folders and search for "nfs". delete the files it comes up with especially the "Nfshs.lgc".

and also as far as i know nfs4 doesn't run with DirectX 9, so if you have this you will have to un-install it and re-install DirectX 8
