HFS HP2 @ Win XP not working

How can I make NFS HP2 work with WinXP Pro? The game hangs on the first frames of the starting movie
system: P4 2.4 HT, Radeon 9200 (128mb ram), 512 ram.

SP1 and DirectX 9.0 are installed, as well as all other Win updates. The v242 patch is applied, but no result ((


Any ideas and suggestions are welcome

Did you install the latest video card drivers? Other than that, I don't know whta the problem could be. Maybe it's because you're using SP1?

i had installed NFS6 (240 & 242) and it worked, the i installed XP pro SP1 and both denied work, just after installing newer video drivers, everything runs again!

If not one should recommend to update video drivers in case of some problem. It's not the first time it happens.

True, but a large number of ppl that visit the site and look for answers in the forums are unsure of where to look and the cause of the problem therefore they post again. Maybe a section for FAQ as suggested by koffy would be a really good idea as a quick reference guide.

You're right about improving it and I was thinking of dividing it into nfs4/nfspu/nfs6 sections. I opened up a new topic here where you can build the faw section yourselves... almost
