fuzzy text and no LAN play in NFS-PU

Running XP Pro.
Did the update to 3.5, still have fuzzy text. You have a fix ?
Update worked on one machine w/ a G2 MX 200 , but not the other that has a FX 5200.
Also LAN option is "greyed out" what's up w/ that ?
I'd really like to try PU on the LAN.
