The demo was very laggy for me with Q6600 @ 2,55GHz, 2gb RAM, Asus 8800gt 512mb.
Shouldn't the game work fairly well on my computer?
It should indeed. With that you should be able max all settings even at high resolutions. My setup (X2 5600+, 2 GB, X1950Pro) runs lag free at 1600x1200, full AA, max settings and yours is even better.

ok, i have a quick question. i bought pro street, and it runs pretty well on my computer. but, the one thing is that wheneve i try and turn smoke on, my computer freezes, and shuts down. the game runs fine other wise. got at 1024xwhatever resolution, and car damage is one, and im pretty well off. any help? here are my stats

Dell latitude d630

and im running it on Microsoft windows xp professional service pack

and my graphics card is

Have you got the latest GFX drivers? And the smoke particles are pretty GFX intensive, so maybe the graphics card just runs out of puff and stuffs up...

Drivers are little pieces of software that act as translators to let your hardware and software talk with each other. Companies often times update their drivers to make them more efficient or add new features.

To update your drivers, go to your manufacturer's website and download the drivers. Then, follow the instructions that came with the download to install the drivers.
