at the start, because he's got a AWD Evo, he'll immediatly overtake u . To prevent this, just look behind u and block him. Keep nose-driving him, and eventually he'll use NOS. When this happens, let him slowly overtake u, and then give him a nudge on the rear quarterpanel. If u did it carefully, and you're going at about 300, he's garunteed to slide out and slam into a wall...

911 is awesome because its fast and very good controleable there are faster cars in prostreet but i prefer te 911

i tested the mclaren is superfast but i can t control it as good as the 911 the mclaren still runs better times but i like to keep it realistic

how did you afford both cars?

And, do you need all stage 3 parts on a 911 to win most races???

i've been lucky with the ryo races so far. he's totalled his car 3 times. both speed challenge races and the grip race he totalled his car and wasn't anywhere near me at the time...but its the damn drift race i can't beat. i have the corolla for that. the corolla has been great for drifting throughout the whole game but now i'm thinking i need a better car for ryo

tried the mazda and it wasn't any better than my corolla. i finally got past that first ryo drift race with my corolla. everything after that was totally easy. i finished each of the remaining races on the first try. and thats with my assist set to King.

The 911 Turbo isn't the fastest grip car (Zonda and Ford GT are faster), but it has the highest handicap. This means the AI cars will go slower when a player drive the 911 Turbo, making it the easiest car to win career mode with. It's even possible to win with the Lotus Elise (I and other players have done this), because the games handicapping. For speed mode, the 911 Turbo is best overall, because it won't go airborne over the jumps at Nevada C with a proper setup.

911 Turbo at Willow Springs:

Zonda is much faster, but gets a poor handicap, making it difficult to win career mode with. In this video, I used manual clutch with very fast shifts, worth about a second per lap:

911 Turbo speed mode at Nevada C, sub 2:50 time:

For drift mode, use the brake (or handbrake if you haven't upgraded to patch 1.1), since this locks up all 4 tires, allowing a car to go in a straight line while sliding sideways and gaining drift points, without slowing down very much. Use this to extend drifts, especially when approaching the finish line. I made a video of the two problem tracks, Tokyo A (without scraping) and Autopolis F. I used the RX7 because it's somewhat small.

i used a r35 to beat ryo on grip
a evo ix to beat him on speed
a 69 charger to beat him on drags
but im agreeing with everyone about the 1st drift!! im using an rx7 with level 2 performance and level 3 handling but ive attempted it so many times and still cant beat him

for the r35 what i found the best setup to be was stick with levels 3 performance, level 4 dragged me down, more hp but seems to have the opposite effect, with level 3 i managed to kick his ass on grip
i played around with the suspension by lowering the height, rear tyre pressure by 3 and rear spring rate by 4 but hardened the rear shock compression by 2 and front and rear shock rebound by 2 and 4

i now have a ford gt for grip though, kicks everythings ass!

I got through him with a 911 Turbo (Grip), 67 Camaro (Drag), R34 Skyline (Speed) and an RX7 (Drift).

Ok, i've got the R34 with spare change left. It's all stage 3, and i'm stuck on the 2nd Nitrocide race day. I keep totaling on the longest track, the squiggly one. (I think it's the last one). I mostly total because of the jumps at the end. Do I need to take down my suspension to stage 2?

Yeah, give it a go, and also, back off at jumps, but yes, de-tune the suspension.

Yep, thanks. I'll try it on Saturday, and I go down to about 300km/h on the hill.

Anyway, can anybody give me a few tips for tuning the R34? I've got about 870hp via setting all boost to max. All I need are gear ratios. Thanks.

Again, just stick with the R34, cheaper, and incredibly fast.

Note the top speed reached and average speeds...Image
Ignore the totalled and that, this is a screen from December pre-patch... so it ran like a total dog, and also my cousin played a bit and he's 5... I had too many repeair markers anyway, lol.

No I HAD a Ford GT for Drag. My 911 is my Grip car, the R34 for Speed and the RX7 for drift.

i beat Ryo with the following:
Grip= porsche 911 turbo
speed= corvette zo6
drag= 1969 challenger r/t
drift= lotus elise

there you go :) and on the first time
In life go as fast as you can, cut corners and cheat, if you crash and burn too bad!
