NFSPS 1.1 Patch makes .exe incorrect

This has probably been addressed a multitude of times already. sorry if it is answered somewhere else. If I install the "official" 1.1 patch to my "official" Pro Street DVD game. I get an error message that my .exe is configured incorrectly...game doesnt start. I am on a PC running XP and I have both the legitimate DVD version (Wal-Mart) AND the legitimate DL version (EA). Both versions come up with the same problem regaurdless of which patch I apply to either version. I am really wanting to unlock all of the cars using the exe patch in another thread but thought I should figure this out first. Am I just retarded or is there something I can do here? TIA ! ! ! !

Make sure you have the right no CD crack... and if not using one, try it.
