PS Performance issues in Vinly editor

Post by donaldgladden »

I've been having this annoying problem where the vinly movement lags a ton and when i switch cars it takes about 5-10 seconds to load. The weird thing is that it didnt take that long before when i had the 256 ram stickand 1.7ghz celeron cpu installed.(Now 1gb and 2.7ghz cpu) This is extremely irritating and simply wards me off from making any more cars. could my gfx card be writing up the bucket list?(BFG 6200 OC card). I tried it on Car detail on high and low but same thing.

It happens on a 7600GT, 3.2 ghz P4 HT, 1.25 gig of ram,
it also happens on an 8800GT, e6600 and 2gb ram.
So it's just inefficient programming. Carbon suffered from the same problems, and Underground 2 and hot pursuit 2 had long car loads.

Game problem for sure, not a hardware problem.

Definitely. It isn't any faster on a friends E6850x, 4gb DDR1000, 8800Ultra system. The rest of the game runs a dream though...

Vinyls move smoothly enough for me, it's the decals that are laggy. Strange.

It's not even close to Forza 2, but the vinyls aren't too bad until you use a full body vinyl and start doing elaborate designs. Then it takes a while for the shadow to kick in.
