[NFSU+PS]Clicking the mouse makes game crash w/ 4+ gamepads

Hi everyone.

For a long time now I couldn't play NFSPS and NFSC properly, due to the game crashing whenever I clicked my mouse.
I have now rooted out the problem to having 4 or more controllers installed. Whenever I disable one in the device manager the game works flawlessly.

So, my question is, does anyone know of a solution to this problem, without having to work around it by disabling a controller?

If they are USB controlers, just connect the one you want to play with, cause too much controlers must confuse the game and force it to crash.
