NFS Pro Street freezing after race

I have digital version of NFS Pro Street for PC. The problem I have is after first race trying to advance to the next Battle Machine race, the button on the screen to advance to next race is not responding to mouse click or enter button on my keyboard. The game just stays on the end race screen frozen. I tried to get EA to help with no avail. I'm assuming its a glitch since the online function of the game is disabled. Any solutions?
