NFS ProStreet: Car Codes

Post by cparty »

Since there is no savegame loader to load your files you just edited with a hex-editor, you will need to do the changes in memory using the memory editor of your choice until such a tool is released.
As usual, before editing backup your career files!

Re: NFS ProStreet: Car Codes

Post by prince1142003 »

I just tried all the codes and they all work!

Surprisingly, quite a few cars are almost complete. The Koenigsegg and the Porsche GT3 have a full array of completed bodykits, and I believe both behave correctly towards performance mods. In any case, the GT3 does. The McLaren F1 and all three new Porsches have damage models, and thus cause no glitches in the game, except for the announcer calling the cars by different names. All the other cars have no damage models and cause the game to glitch, especially when the car should be totalled but isn't, due to a lack of a damage model. The Challenger Concept and Mercedes have wheel placement issues. Also, I could not update and save changes to any of the blueprints, as doing so caused my game to crash.

Just my findings.

Can someone explain this a bit more thoroughly because I'm sure that many of us don't know how to do this hex and memory editing.
Cheers in advance

When I found the new codes, I simply added the codes in the carslot section to make them available in the carlot. This section looks pretty much the same as in MW or Carbon, Customization section has changed (quite a bit) and has 3 subsection (one for each blueprint), I haven't looked into vinyls and other stuff yet.
Something else which is quite cool is that you can still unlock the pretuned cars contained in the savegame for the carlot by adding the 0x01 to the 'category' where the cars shows up. And if you buy it, it will NOT loose it's tuning as it was the case with previous NFS titles. This means you can just buy the AI car you like :) Alltogether makes about 190 cars in the carlot. However since those are pre-tuned cars you cannot edit the blueprint.

Nothing for Xbox 360 then, eh... :(
Can somebody post up some screens, I'm finding this a tad difficult to believe.

EDIT: Actually now that I think of it, it's fully possible for these cars to be in the game (except the Veyron), as they could be some of them downloads you have to pay for... You cheapskates you.

The easiest way is to replace an existing car in the carlot by a new code - buy the replaced car - then revert back to the original code. (You can of course simply add the correct line in a free slot.)
In this example we will replace the Nissan 240sx with the Koenigsegg CCX.

0. What you need:
You need a memory editor: ArtMoney, tSearch or any other MemEditor with a decent Hex View will do fine. I'll use ArtMOney v7.17.

1. Initial setup
BACKUP your career!
  • Start NFS Pro Street, load your career, then switch back to Windows (ALT-TAB).
  • Open the MemEditor, then open the process 'Need for Speed Pro Street'.
2. Find the region to edit
The address will change each time you load NFS ProStreet, so we need to search for a known value (ArtMoney doesn't have any hex search afaik, so we need to search an integer).
  • Search for this Integer: 305419896 (this is 0x12345678 - the start of the carslot region).
You should end up with 2 maybe 3 results.
  • open the first result in memory view by selecting the value then press CTRL-M (or right click -> memory editor).
  • Change 'number of value columns' to 24, so it will look like this (every line now stands for a carslot, if it doesn't look anything like this try the next value):
    Image
  • Scroll down 115 lines (we skip the pretuned cars) until you can see 72000000:
    Image
3. Replace the code
  • Replace the 2 codes FC2B6FA8 FC2B6FA8 (logo and carcode) for the Nissan 240sx with the codes for the koenigsegg CCX, which is A6DCC132 A6DCC132.
    Image
Make sure you complete the change of the number in the last field by pressing 'enter' or selecting another field.
4. Buy the car and clean up
  • Switch back to the game, go to the carlot, buy the car.
  • Switch back to Windows and restore the original Nissan 240sx code.
5. Have fun
Go try your new car :)
But don't forget to save your career first. just in case you crash your game.

Do you need to do the fix sum thing after adding the cars as for MW? nfs planet has a programme which can change money and appears to have a fix sum function in the included source code, could any code master verify this? By the way, if EA plans to sell these hidden cars later on, is there a point hexing it? I know you can buy the car from the car lot after hexing it, but without free roaming and customisable blue print, what's the difference between having it in your car lot and play it as the bonus car (or whatever EA makes it)?

No checksum fixing needed since all changes are done in memory directly (nfs will do the checksum stuff for you), but thanks for the info :) Looks like CoDe RiPPeR already did the savegame checksum fixer. So if you prefer, do the changes on your savegame, then simply use the checksum fixer.

You can customize the cars, they just lack some of the parts (or may crash the game) - prince1142003 described it in his post very well.

The cars that are "malformed" are:
2006 Dodge Challenger concept
???? Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
2007 Porsche Carrera GT
The tires aren't located where they are supposed to be
Almost every other car can look normal only with the widebody kit but even with it the tires stay in place(they don't follow the shape of the widebody kit) and it looks very ugly

P.S. I don't know the technical naming for the enlargement of the rear axle so don't laugh :)
