Game freezes on car select!

I can buy a new car and use it fine and customize it fine, but whenever i try to select different cars in car select, (career mode), as soon as i hit the arrow i get nfsc has encountered an unexpected error blah blah blah

it also freezes when i scroll to the dodge charger in the car lot! i can see the cars before and after it fine though
