Carbon installation problem

after a fresh installed xp and sp2 patch, i try to install cabron and most wanted. i didn't update my directX, so i used the one that came with Cabon. here is the problem, the windows says this software(Dx9c installation file) doesn't pass some "windows logo test", so it can't be install. then i go to Microsoft's website and downloaded the lastest verison of Dx9, run it, and it also says doesn't pass that test(or check). WTF!!!! DX9 IS a microsoft product!!!! why the f... i can't run it!!!!!

If it's saying that it didn't pass the WinXP logo testing, just choose Continute Installation, which should be available. It really doesn't matter if it's not WHQL'd, all it is a fancy way for Microsoft to make more money.
