I already made a Gen. Lee vinyl for the Camaro, believe it or not.

Replace the decal and the mask in Textures.BIN in the Cars folder.

it doesnt work like that i've tried you have to save the decal as DXT3 which i did but i think the problem is that in mwtex it says the method RAWW for the decal you imported while all the other ones have the method JDLZ

the decals were intended for using on your custom vinyls, not to replace decals in textures bin[tho that maybe possible,I dont know ,I have only replaced vinyls]

Bam and ELK Design>>>>nice site,

Also 'The Gimp ver 2.2' can now accomadate loading, editing and exporting your .dds textures[vinyls] ,with aid of DDS Plugin by Shawn Kirst[Thanks Shawn ],

The Gimp is open source, meaning it is FREE.Also one of a few apps that can rival photoshop.I recommend it if you cannot afford PS or are having problems importing exporting .dds with PS.

Heres a sample vinyl I got from nfs unlimited for u1 and imported to u2.using the gimp and bintex ver 05

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Only binTex 0.5 seems to be able to import decals. But you're right, they need to be saved as DXT3 images with an alpha channel. They have no mask, just an alpha channel.

hare i am,sorry that i couldnt write an answer yet cuz i was in holidays in italia.
i saw now that on nfs-planet.de is an tutorial,too : http://www.nfsplanet.com/nfsmw_tutorials.php?lang=eng
so you can read it there too, its more detailed than my one, and my english isnt that good.
to get the decals wrking you have to rename FrontEndMemoryFile.bin to GlobalMemoryFile.bin
and so the cars wont be transparent.
sorry again
greeds ChrisR
