NFSU2 / Vista - sound only from front speakers

I have a 4.1 speakers setup and in the Vista speaker tests they all work fine, but in this game sound is only from the front speakers. Other games sound is also fine (all speakers work). I have X-fi Xtreme Music with the latest drivers installed. Anyone know what the problem may be?
