Hi!

When i Try to patch my NFSU2 game an error message apears: Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since the file contests does not match.

when i change the speed2 name to speed2.exe a different error message apears: Old file not found!

i've tried avery patch avalible (i think) us and eu...

what can i do to patch my game so i can play online?

Yes i did. I cracked it though so i dont have to insert the CD all the time

There's your problem. Reinstall the game and patch it.

yes you can
after you patch game simple find 1.1 crack and crack game again, remember you will need reinstall every time game if you crack it when new patch realesd

Or perhaps you might have downloaded the different patch... Let's say yours is the US version and then you downloaded and installed the European version...

I'm not sure whether that caused the error, but make sure you know what version of your game is. It's either the US or European.

@relja55 and CodenameNOS, a better way to crack a game exe is keeping a backup of the original game exe & then replace with cracked exe. this way, u dont have to re-install the game everytime u patch the game. for example, nfsu2 has released patch 1.1, patch ur game with it, keep a backup of the 1.1 patched speed2.exe, then find a nocd crack or whatever crack u need, replace it with speed2.exe. next time if patch 1.2 is released, just delete the cracked speed2.exe & copy the 1.1 patched speed2.exe, then install patch 1.2. this way u dont have to install the game again & again. sorry for my bad english, thats not my 1st language. but hope i was clear enuff.

just to add, this way if something goes wrong, even while patching(bad file or wrong version of patch), u always have the backup exe so no worries

The original exe is on disk 2 so you don't have to backup or reinstall anything. copy paste it.

NFSU2 wrote something to the Registry when you first installed it.
However the game folder, when copied to another computer, will run happily until ....

Well, this is what I found out recently when I return to NFSU2 :
... until I want to install the newer patch or upgrade.
Luckily my 2 old cds are still working, and I know how to work with Regclean and RegSnap.
