[NFSU] Greyed out visual options

Post by influx »

Can anyone please tell me why in Underground 1 I cannot switch On these things:

- Car Headlight
- Crowds
- Light Trails
- Motion Blur

Also, I cannot see the person through the windows whether the tint be on stock / medium or dark. Not only that I cannot see the Pearlescent effect as the colour does not change like it does on Xbox. I tried on my friends Xbox and the Visuals (crowds etc) including the colour changeable paint effects were all there, but on my computer for some reason I can't see that.

My graphics card is GeForce 4 MX440.
Operating System Windows XP Pro.

My other friend plays Underground on PC as well but he uses GeForce FX, and can see all the visual effects.

Is this just a problem with my Graphics Card, do I have to get a new one or is there an option in Windows that I can alter to make me notice the difference?

Please help.

That it is, GF4 MX cards are actually souped up GF2 cards, hence not supporting the newer DX9 features, which are required for some of the graphic options.

For NFSU1 and 2 a card from the Ati 9600 or 9800 series will be all you need (128 or 256 doesn't matter wich one they both work perfect)

I've got Nvidia Gforce and it works great you just have to figure out all the graphics settings. If you get it I'll e0mail them to you

I got the same graphics card as you, I can't turn on those options too.

And my parents won't buy me a new card.

i have an ati x1900xt and undercover works slow, i dnt kno if its driver issue or somthin else, but the previous nfs series worked perfectly, even pro street worked good at high res with max settings thats with 2x AA only, now undercover kinda crawls with them settings, any 1 have any ideas, or a similar card.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but this was Underground 1, not Undercover. Undercover's abbreviation is UC, so as not to be confused with U (at times UG), which is Underground.
