More NFS games is something we have guaranteed (unless the world ends in 2012 as predicted ), but a free copy is not guaranteed at all.

Maybe it is better to change the name of the topic... people can still try to guess the name of the next NFS.

• The car customization from Underground & Underground 2
• Open World (combine all the cities from the previous titles)
• Weather
• The cinematic cutscenes from Most Wanted & Carbon
• Razor Callahan
• Gameplay types (Circuit, Drag, Drift, Sprint, Pursuit)
• Cops
• Frostbite engine /w dat audio
• And lots of cars

I dunno about next need for speed game here is a hint it will be on frostbite 2 also it will be a next gen title..why because the gothenburg studio its specifically to make games on frostbite 2 and next gen also they looking for talent. so criterion lead guys Alex ward and Craig Sullivan are already hinting that they would like to do a road rash ,honestly they gonna give nfs a break and do something else its time that a road rash game its made and criterion at the helm will be epic i can just imagine the bike crashes and the huge jumps they will have, i'm telling you Road Rash it is, i don't see a game about bikes all arcadey and going crazy nowadays, EA/Criterion make it happen.

Need for speed underground 3 !
Lets revive need for speed , nfsu2 was the best ever made because the customization was so awesome and they didnt make any lamborghini and exotic cars like (lambo;aston martin etc).

I think the name of the next Need for Speed game will be... Shift 3. Shift is long overdue for an update to the series.

AND... the next one after that will be Need for Speed: Underground (without the 3, since that's what they do...).

From what I've read about the upcoming Need for Speed movie, it's storyline and theme is very Underground-ish. So it would make sense to release a game with the same theme around the release of the movie. Hence, NFS: Underground in 2014, and Shift 3 next year.

I'm guessing Criterion will make the next NFS, so they might decide to make Underground 3 or something.

What NFS needs to do is to take their time perfecting the next need for speed game. Even if it means they can only release it after 2 - 3 years time. Also, they should listen to what we want in the game - most people want the car customization like the old NFS Most Wanted. And add an awesome story line somehow.

To me, I think the gameplay is more important than the graphics. No point in a game with good graphics if it has a really crappy gameplay.

I hope NFS can perfect the next NFS game coming, iron out issues, listen to what fans want in the game, develop an awesome story line. Even if this all takes them more than 2 years.

This is just my 2c.

but apart from who is the developer...
if NFS is going to have a chance... the devs need serious re-thinking... nfs is not a facebook app with cars. criterion seems to have forgot about what NFS really was. nobody cares about autolog 2 or 3 or 4... or dramatic crash scenes.
If nfs continues like this, it will not even touch the likes of forza horizon...touch?... it wont even get within a light year of FH.
i'm an old school nfs fan and it makes me really sad that some other title than nfs keeps doing what nfs fans need.

There's not a snowball's chance i hell that Ghost can release a new Need for Speed as early as next year. They just got started up, they haven't even hired all staff yet! No, next year Slighlty Mad Studios will release another Shift and Ghost will release their new NFS in 2014. Meanwhile Criterion will work on some other IP.

^ I thought SMS is no longer an EA studio. Plus they're working on Project CARS.
