Police Chase should be changed totally
In NFS:UC, how fast you are, how fast the police car is : Even you're 500mph, the police car can also stay with you closely. So you have to KILL the police cars.
When our (suspects') car is being chased by Police Car, our purpose is to let the Police Car quit pursuit, not "Smashing Police Car".
So the milestone list should be "How many police car you Ditch" no "KILL"
1. No "Catch-Up". The Police Car should have real Performance instead of "Catch-Up". Just like CVPI 0-100km/h is 5.3, top speed is 140mph.
2. No SUV ramming. That's not only tough but also stupid.
3. Anything you can let the police car quit chasing is GOOD !
I . If your car is faster than the police cars, you can ditch them!
II . If your car isn't faster than the police cars, but your car's performance is better than them, they'll also be unable to stay with you.
III. If the police cars get involved a Traffic Accident with traffic vehicles, they'll also quit chasing you.
IV. If the police car catches the spike-strip, the tires will also be damaged.
V . If the police cars hit the wall, tree or something fast enough, they'll quit chasing you.
VI . There's still some "Red Triangle" : your car hit it, some heavy things fall down and damage the police cars, then they quit chasing you. But the Red Triangles shouldn't be Tower, huge sculpture or something like that.
4. Not easy to kick the roadblock-police-car away. If your car hit a roadblock-police-car, the speed of your car will soon become very very low.
5. No City Standard Badge. This will make the police cars look boring. In the NFS:MW, Carbon, UC, the different police cars has the same badge.
6. Police car model should be real. No fabricated Police Car: No Civic Cruiser or State Police.
These police cars models should be included: And different police car has different paint and badge
1. Civic
1981 Chevrolet Impala SS (Paint as LAPD unit)
1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 5.8L (Paint as the police car steal in the hospital in Terminator 2)
1986 Dodge Diplomat / Plymouth Gran Fury
2. Civic Advanced
1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 5.8L (Paint as the LTD in Final Destination)
1990 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 (Paint as NFS3PSX Hometown)
1986 Dodge Diplomat / Plymouth Gran Fury
3. State
1997 Ford Crown Victoria P71 (Paint as the CVPI in NFS:HS hometown police car)
1996 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 (Paint as the Caprice in NFS:HS seaside police car)
4. State Advanced
2003 Ford Crown Victoria P71 (Paint as the CVPI in NFS:HP2)
2009 Chevrolet Impala 9C3
5. Federal
2011 Chevrolet Caprice
2003 Ford Crown Victoria P71 (Black)
2009 Chevrolet Impala 9C3 (Black)
2010 Dodge Charger Police Package
SUV ? 1994 Cherokee Jeep, Chevy Tahoe, Ford Explorer and so on

Ah well you say that "killing" the cops is stupid and it would be more realistic to "ditch" the cops, but you need to remember, the NFS games of late with cops have been arcade game, and if we look at it from that perspective then smashing cop cars is a lot more fun than ditching them, and also varies up the gameplay a lot more.

well what would be nice is sim racing game but on city streets. like realistic physics, its not like the physics change from when your on a racetrack to the street, just minor differences. I think the police chases should be more realistic, i mean seriously what car can smash through a roadblock at like 100mph and drive away. That would completely total the car like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdCn8ci-mWM

That'd be nice, but really - this thing wouldn't work out. You'll have to avoid roadblocks, which means taking certain turns so as to not crash into them but often your GPS just isn't wide enough (it'll hog the screen otherwise obviously) and as such you usually have no choice.Zotic+ wrote:well what would be nice is sim racing game but on city streets. like realistic physics, its not like the physics change from when your on a racetrack to the street, just minor differences. Or your speed would be too great to make a turn and avoid an incoming roadblock (yes, there IS speedbreaker... but what would that be doing in a sim?)

In NFS:UC, all the cars have only one tactical, the same tactical: hit the red-triangle to kill COPCARS
Different cars should have different tacticals!
AE86 is slow, but it does well in TURNs. The police cars are easy to lose it at the TURNs.
Veyron is very fast, when it's fast enough, the police cars can't catch up!
You want fun
When your car it fast enough, the police car can't catch your tail-light!
When the police car hits a traffic car, it'll quit the pursuit.
When the police car hits a wall or a tree, it'll TOTAL!
I think MULTI-TACTICAL has more fun than JUST KILLING.

I think he means to remove catch up and have the cop cars be given different performance(each of them) and obviously realistic, and the road blocks more towards the GTA 4 way(you can smash through them but it will take about 80-90% of your speed.)

But what we're saying is that how suitable is it to make those changes in an arcade game, obviously they have put police chases into the game because of the fun factor, and if you include things like no catchup and stronger roadblocks, then it wouldn't be a better experience, in my eyes, and by presumption, the majority of most players eyes.

To this:

On the EA forum, tgomola replied:
Old NFS games (1-6) have always been more or less realistic (and I'm not talking about driving physics). Look at Hot Pursuit or High Stakes. They're also arcade games, and you don't destroy cop cars, but escape them. Destroying cops is good in Grand Theft Auto series, but not in NFS.
Also, I miss the Hot Pursuit game mode - a single race with one opponent and police on your back. Quick race and multiplayer without cops are just boring.

Well kinda, in my 'mental' bookmarks at least - it's been around for years. I have another one that fits the 'waiting for the right time to use it' mould though..Dr Houbenheimer wrote:Btw, you've had that just sitting in your favs for so long waiting for a time to use it, haven't you
BTW the url itself is valid, coz I did just firetrucking Google it.
