Saw the trailer a few hours ago. 
I've never been so excited about a NFS game in a long time. I will buy 50 copies of this game for each console and I advise everyone to do the same. We need to make it the best selling NFS game of all time so that the developers get the message: Never deviate from NFS's roots, ever!

I'm sorry, but that's a stupid idea. Hell, it costs $50 for just ONE copy.
Not to mention that at some point, it will have to leave the roots again. Can't just do one type of game and stick with it throughout.

It doesn't have to change, check out the first 6 games (NFS5 had all Porsches though). We're just so used to Black Box "experimenting" with the franchise that we've come to expect a new theme every time they churn out a new game. There is a reason why Hot Pursuit is back for a third time.
Eventually all games must return to the beginning. New Mario Bros, Sonic 4, New MK...
