Huh? What do you mean?

I'm getting full HD shots: http://www.nfsunlimited.net/showroom/im ... /52887.jpg

His are only 1280x800: http://www.nfsunlimited.net/showroom/im ... /37895.jpg and we still both get jaggies.

What card do u have? Does Shift use any DX10 features?

setting in the game...1280x720 60hz 0xAA
window off, billinear, v-off, car detail- low, shadow-off, track-low, motion blur- off, texture-low
54fps in menu around 20fps and droping in game driving works lambo.

AMD Phenom X4 9850BE @2.8GHz, 8 GB RAM, 2x ATI 4850 Crossfire, Vista Business 64bit

Running at 1920x1200 (Asus VW266H 26" LCD) 2xAA, all other settings maxed. Runs flawless for the most part, but there are few spots on various tracks where the game lags noticeably for a second or two. There doesn't seem to be anything special on the screen at those spots and the slowdown also doesn't seem to relate to on how many cars are visible. Some weird unnoticeable scenery element I suppose...Go figure.

@arabnight: Update your graphics drivers and try enabling PhysX

20FPS in game isn't much... it might have heat issues, but my 5600 artifacted when it got hot too. I can't offer that much help though because I'm not sure what the recommended video card is and if there are issues with mobile versions.

Ok, that's pretty playable. I'd imagine this game is much more intensive than undercover or prostreet. I think a friend's old 8600MGT laptop did medium in Prosteet.

whew... i'm drooling over your rigs...

mine is

CPU - Core 2 Quad Q6600 – 2.40 GHz
MOBO - Asus P5k
RAM - 4GB (Zeppelin 2Gb X 2)
VGA - XFX Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512Mb alpha dog version
MONITOR - ACER 19' LCD
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
im running shift on 1440 x 900 res on medium settings...
it's not that great to look at but it gives a decent fps which is what i need for gameplay...

How i wish i could upgrade soon...

After the patch im having no framerate issues at all, anywhere, even when i see 15 cars in front of me + my own car.
still obviously running it on max settings and 1280x1024. i know the resolution is pretty low for todays standards but the problem is...getting a GOOD monitor with decently higher resolution capabilities is rather expensive, and the games so far look pretty with this on + max details.
@ up
only thing i'd say is not good for shift in your PC is probably the graphics card. monitor and resolution are rather personal things. maybe on christmas you will upgrade :)

I just bought myself a new computer...
Core i5 750 @2.66GHz (will overclock it to maybe 3.2-3.5 soon... got a pretty big heatsink for it =) )
4GB OCZ 1600 RAM
a brand new 1080p 24" Samsung monitor
Win7 64bit

only thing missing now is the graphics card (which I want to buy the HD5850, but as some you might know, is lacking in the supply department, so is quite expensive now) so borrowed a friend's HD3850 till I get it

was running 1080p resolution fine, at 4xAA, all other effects maxed, and it can do 20-25fps consistently.

just hope the price for HD5850 drops and availability increases soon

I could have taken out the HD4850 from my parents' computer and put it in this one, but since I'll be getting a better one *hopefully* soon anyway, I'll just save the hassle of having to open up 2 computers and swap parts... the cable management is just a PITA

A GTX 275 is another option... Quite affordable and you'll probably get very close to maxxing Crysis. I have most settings as high as they go on a 260 Gold... but not sure whether games prefer i7s or i5s. Got the 7 for engineering, CAD, MATLAB, Video encoding and realtime Sound engineering (+ Asus DX... for my guitar).

@Bluepencil: Is Shift that much more graphics intensive? Are you running the latest drivers with physX enabled? I'd expect more from a late model 8800.

I'm not a very big fan of nVidia... especially since last year where they were completely dominated by ATI in the "mid-range" graphics department performance/price wise...

I just ordered a Powercolor HD5850 and it's still "In Transit"... also got a new motherboard, *since my UD3 got killed somehow... by running Prime95* so I RMA'ed it and got a UD4P instead

Overclocked my CPU to 4.00GHz and after 12+ hours of full BOINC, it's stable so far... *had a few issues with voltage and RAM causing computer to crash when I run firefox... but since I'm posting this, it's fine now* so far so good!

now just waiting for my GPU to arrive and will see how much better Shift can be =b can't wait!

if there won't be any bugs with Shift's performance related to the card being ATI, then it should run more than 60 FPS with all max details and some way higher resolution than 1280x1024.

Everything on max at 1600x1200 (cos I need a new monitor, 19in CRT doesn't really cut it with the rest of my specs!), 8xAA, Trilinear filtering.

Just built myself this baby, my old P4 3.2 just couldn't cut the mustard any longer:

Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHZ
6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit
Intel X58 / ICH10R Mainboard
Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 1792MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDMI PCI Express - with PhysX, CUDA & 3D Stereo
Corsair TX 850W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant Power Supply
Antec Ultimate Gamer Case 1200
WD Raptor HDD 128MB boot drive
2x1.5TB IDE HDDs in RAID 0 (Striped)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

Runs Shift sweet until the game decides to lag for no apparent reason - however, no problems encountered since installing patch 1.02.

Oh, yeah... that defs should. I have a GTX 260 and it maxxes it at 1920x1080 (I have and audio card though)

@Zedex: I chose the Nvidia GTX260 Gold (later model) because it was cheaper than the HD4870 when I bought my PC, quieter, ran cooler, and gave about the same performance. Let me get an i7 in the budget =-) Not sure what prices are like now though... MSY don't stock higher NV cards than the 275

I'm FINALLY receiving my HD5850 today... well tracking says it's out for delivery so it should... been waiting for a week and 3 days now >.>

edit: YES GOT IT! *well quite a while ago actually... been benchmarking and overclocked it and stress testing*
here's an album for those interested lol: http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m172/zedex26/HD5850/

edit2: CPU-Z validation *note the GPU section*

woow... Shift runs at 90-100 fps! now I can do in-game recordings! instead of only replays because it used to run at 25-35fps and with fraps on, drops to 12...

also recordings at 1080p! =b

my system: Intel C2D e7500, Gainward GTS 250 512 (Green Ed. but OC'd to reference GTS 250 clocks), 4GB DDR2-800 Kingston RAM, Antec Truepower New 550, Win 7 x64

SHIFT seems to run variably from 35-60fps (with v-sync), with high car detail and texture resolution (anything lower than high textures looks blurry) but medium shadows and environment detail @ 1280x1024 and 2xAA/trilinear filtering (getting a new 1680x1050 monitor soon maybe).

I'm not really sure whether this is exactly the performance I should be getting out of my setup, seeing as SHIFT doesn't seem to be that GPU intensive..

System:
E5200 @ 3.33GHz
GA-EP45-DS3R
4GB DDR2-1066
Asus GTX 275
Windows XP x86

Settings:
Resolution: 1920x1200
Refresh Rate: 60Hz
Anti-Aliasing: 2xAA
Windowed: Off
V-Sync: On
All other settings: High

Never had a problem with the graphics settings slowing the game play down. I tried with 4xAA setting but couldn't see a difference so went with 2xAA.
