World Final General Discussion Thread
Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
Aagh... I didn’t even notice that World had been released!
I’m downloading the game onto my laptop now. Looking forward to seeing some of you online.

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
i downloaded it, but now i have alot of schoolwork. and it runs slower than the beta

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
Actually yeah it does run a bit slower.
the whole friendlist is slowed down, the news is slowed down.
On the other side, it loads people a lot lot faster.
Lagging has pretty much decreased and that's highly positive =)
But, somehow it is time for new content or new stuffies cause i'm getting quite bored here.
At night time (Netherlands) there are more people to race with than lets say afternoon/evening.
Anyway i hope to see most of you in World =)

LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG
Is there anything else than Lag in this game lately ?
Today it took minutes for the game to start, for a friendstatus to open, for seeing the race results or even closing down the game stuck my PC.
What the hell is going on ?
Can't they handle the number of players ? Because they should have anticipated that much people trying the game when they make it completely free.

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
server overload again i guess. it takes me 5 minutes just to launch a single player match or a pursuit. the only way for me to quit the game is alt+f4, if i press quit, it just stuck at there.

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
When I connected today, the HUD took over 5 minutes to actually appear.
Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
Is known appareantly.
Just checked the NFSW forums and it seems the servers cannot handle 1 million users.
Which... makes sense.
2 Servers, 1 Million users.
I think many will agree that we dont need to be Einstein's to figure out, that isn't working =)
I just hope they will get some extra servers to handle the entire load of new users joining every day

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
Now that its free we have to live with it. Free=mass people, mass people + unprepared servers=lag.
For me, it took 3 minutes for HUD to load, 3 minutes for me to join a race, 3 minutes for it to start, and then about 30 seconds wait each time i used NOS.
30 seconds delayed NOS
then like 2 minutes when it was loading results, another 1 minute when picking reward cards, and then 20 sec for the screen to close. And a minute for HUD to load.
But im not complaining, its free

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
One would think that a company like EA would imagine what will happen if they open a game for free, that it will be crowded. To just put 2 Servers worldwide is kinda noob and so totally unprofessional.

Especially when the game is named Need For Speed.Wolfseye wrote:One would think that a company like EA would imagine what will happen if they open a game for free, that it will be crowded. To just put 2 Servers worldwide is kinda noob and so totally unprofessional.
I mean, seriously...some might hate the series after underground era happened, but there are still tons of people who just go out and play every single NFS title just for the hell of it.

Looks like the Supra that they announced earlier this month is almost done and we should expect it soon enough. Next up is the Porsche 911, dev team asks on how the car should handle. So if you want to post your opinion, go Here

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
I actually haven't had too many troubles - I can play it for hours without too much lag (ok a little) and it's only quit on my once or twice the entire time I've been playing - and I'm in Australia
To be fair though, the menu's can get really slow though.

Re: World Final General Discussion Thread
When I play on my morning time (Germany), I really have a good almost lagfree connection. At lunchtime it already gets a bit worse. Afternoon starts to annoy me with the lag and in the evening, around 8 PM my time, i sometimes don't even get in. And if I get in after trying for half an hour in a role, I have total lag.
Try a race or pursuit with that lag, when the powerups activate almost 1 minute after you actually pressed them, and most of all, needed them. Thats a nightmare and ain't fun anymore.
If they dont add many more servers / server locations, it all becomes completely unplayable.
