leaderboard strangeness

I have noticed that the rank shown is different between that shown on profile and that shown in the leaderboard listing.

example my rank on my profile http://nfsunlimited.net/world/user/SPINOUT718 is 179, but if I look at page 4 of the leaderboards rankings, I see a rank of 176. Points remain the same.

out of curiosity, why is this happening?
