I'm working hard on finding the best and coolest European tuners and JDM cars for the game.

The Import list is atm 90% done (estimate)

Hey look, it's a very low-poly model of a Suzuki Rodeo! This is just going to be street traffic. I guess Korge is looking into how to do textures.

korge I guess I am here to dissapoint you.

That map is TOO FREAKIN HUGE. I won't say it's impossible. But you can do it in 2 ways:

The engine doesn't support such a big map. So if your map is divided by four (4 cities no?) you can put teh maps one on another. They will be linked by tunnels with portal textures for trigger, so when you enter a tunnel you get to the next city (which is on top) in teh same tunnel same position. BUT HERE COMES THE BAD PART: It will cause LAG, LOTS of it (better to say UBER LAG). portals reduce lag a bit, but increase compiling time to abut 4 days (too big map). Also as i know , the Source engine can hold approximatively one NFS U2 map that is chopped in half and put one over another.

or the second way: make 10 maps, then you can change them every time you get trough a map changer trigger (which is not laggy but loading time sucks, so if one racer gets to map 2 , every other one has to)

Sorry but I was a mapper and i know from experience. Now please reduce that map.

Edit: Also I don't think the 1st way will work. I give it a 35%

Dont worry. It will work. We will make it work.

As you can see, it will be chopped not into 4, but into 8. And not to mention that most of the power will be aimed toward the cars and the environment. Im not too worried about super hi next gen graphics. Im worried about getting the correct gameplay right.

The team is in need of atleast one mapper to start creating an example area where we can begin coding the gameplay. If you want to join fulltime till the end of this mod, I want to see your previous work.

If you would like to join as temporary, that is great too. It is all a matter of your attitude toward the game and how much time you are willing to put in(whether its fulltime or just partial).

I can map full time from Christmas to 5th of February 2007. After that only on saturday and sunday. And yes until the end of the mod if it worth it. (because soem mods just die after a period). So shall I install the game or not? Oh and previous work ? Wait.

Well since i reinstalled HL2 i guess all my work is gone, but as soon as i install the game i will map an example

Worth it? I guess you dont realize its only been a week since this mods announcement and not only is there 4 pages of notes, a bunch of concept and a working team, but also a huge amount of public interest.

This mod would be worth it and Ill be dmned if I let it die.

You obviously dont realize how much work went into this mod design so far.

Sure. I just want people who are interested in this mod. Not just anyone off the internet who is temporarily bored.

Hope it makes sense. Welcome to the team.

Dude. That's trippin. You're trippin. If you want to get that car list, you got to hire or get 20 modelers+ so it can be done by early 2007. A friend of mine Scionic can make a pretty detailed car (like nfsu2) in a week. Or if you want a car like nfs 6 it should be like ... 3 days. But still lots of work. Also you'll need coders to code the engine so it can "drift" , to code the cars so you replace the buggy with a car , you need to hex them, new hud , modify physics, hard coding , hard moddeling damn this gives me headaches.

As an advice, you should start with one moddeled car, any, and go for hard weeks and painstaking nights of coding. If you can find someone to code physics and the cars I SWEAR I will map all of it, ALL. I SWEAR.
