April's IGC car for World

Post by Hydro_PT »

It's the end of the month, and as usually, the dev. team of Need For Speed: World has launched a new in-game cash (IGC) car: the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32).

After cancelling the second generation Skyline GT-R, due to low demand and a gas crisis at the time, Nissan decided to revive the Skyline brand in 1989. The new generation GT-R had a new chassis, codenamed E-BNR32. This led to the shortened and common name, which is R32. Over the years different models of this Skyline were made available, such as the NISMO Group A Evolution (560 made), the V-Spec (1453), the V-Spec II (1303), and the N1 Race Version (228).

Nicknamed "Godzilla", this Tier 2 monster is now available for $400,000 IGC!

I bought it, just because it was IGC. Not very fast, and of course IGC version is plainly stock. Still, fun ride to have in the garage.

It is called "Godzilla" because the R32 completely dominated motorsports in Japan. It won 29 races in a row and won the JGTC Group A series championship 4 years in a row. It also won the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1990, 1991, and 1992. :)

This is for the R32, of course. Other Skyline GT-Rs won at the time they were in production. For instance, the R33 won 50 races out of 50 between 1991–1997.

It was so unbeatable in Australia that in 1993 they changed the rules so that only Australian-built cars could compete, turning it into the V8 Supercars competition. "If you can't beat 'em, rule them out of the competition". :P
