NFSPS Updates at Yahoo Games

Post by Skyline_man »

Yahoo games has updated their NFSPS page with new screenshots showing the cars that were revealed yesterday, with a video showing the new GT-R PROTO from different angles and another which is a developer interview.

<center><a href="http://www.nfsunlimited.net/?p=image&pa ... ots/13.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.nfsunlimited.net/news/screen ... a></center>

See the rest of the screenshots at our screenshots section.

Additionally, Yahoo games had a small Q&A session with some of the developers:
How is this year's car list different?

This year we have more variety in brand and age of cars. Also, the car list is influenced by the culture and type of racing we have in the game. These aren't all the ones you'll find sitting, primped and proper in a show room. The cars you'll find in ProStreet are true battle machines that have been built for performance and for pushing your skills to the limits. They're prepped for competition and are not intended to stay clean and flashy. These are the cars that if you saw on the streets, you would know they weren't your ordinary commuter vehicle and that they were meant for competing.

What made you choose these cars?

When we started picking the cars for the game, there had to be a reason for each and every car that was selected. There had to be something unique, aspirational, memorable, or just cool about the car in order for it to stay on the car list.

There are some legendary vehicles. The car list currently features over 40 years of the automotive spectrum, and the widest range of cars we've ever featured with old classics like the 1970 Plymouth(r) Hemi(r) Cuda.

Multidisciplinary is key to Need for Speed ProStreet. Your cars will need to excel in different disciplines. The 1995 Mazda RX-7 is one of the greatest tuner cars of all time, excelling in drift. The 1999 Mitsubish Eclipse is prime for drag races and the 2006 Audi S4 will soar in grip races.

There are also those iconic cars that at the time may have seemed like any other car, but now we look at those cars as a cut above the rest (e.g. 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86).

We've also got some of the latest and the greatest cars, including the Nissan GT-R PROTO, the 2008 BMW M3 and the latest version VW hatchback, the 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI.

What can we expect to see from this game at E3?

At E3 you will be experiencing the power and adrenaline of the 1995 Mazda RX-7 and the 2008 BMW M3.

How important is it to have the Nissan GT-R PROTO in the game?

It's definitely a big deal for us to be featuring the Nissan GT-R PROTO in ProStreet. This iconic vehicle is a signature of performance, technology and legacy. It is one car that really encapsulates the history of our franchise as well as the ambitions of Need for Speed ProStreet.

Thanks to Sweet-16 for spotting these.

No it won't kick forza's butt (Forza2-Simulation/NFS:PS- Arcade, half simulation) I really don't like the eve's autosculpt bodykit, i wish they still had the separate kits like in NFSU :)

yes it will! :D there is damage, drift and drag racing, and desert racing. and there will be deep performance tuning, so it definitly will kill forza.;)

and even though forza has damage, its not very impressive, and the fact that you can flip a car over here overpowers forza big time.

I'm pretty sure it's in game footage since the car looks almost exactly the way it does in the screenshots released. The helmet was seen in the very first "official" screenshots of the Audi S4.

No, it's a Evo IX. I don't think the Evo XI exists yet. The current production version (or planned production version) is the Evo X (in which Mitsubishi has removed the trademark EVO part of the car name).

Why the hell does everyone keep saying Audi S4??? Unless you are including both vehicles in the same game, stop making stupid typing errors or specify. Please look at the image that is on this site and it clearly shows the "Audi RS4" logo on the front grille!

The info released by EA said Audi S4. That's why everyone's saying Audi S4. The screen shots may say Audi RS4, but the officially confirmed car is an Audi S4.

Something's confusing me. The info's given by EA to them? Why doesn't that info come from EA directly? Shouldn't EA post the info up on the NFSPS website before others have the info?

I think EA wants to give their info to all these kind of sites just to make sure that their news are read by all ppl.If they post this only on NFSPS Site, the number of ppl who will look on the site won”t be as big as when they post the news on Yahoo, etc. This is imo.

Ooorr maybe they're selling "exclusive" information to these different sites. It wouldn't surprise me, knowing how greedy EA is...

Well at least that method got them near-perfect game sales in Need for Speed, and I'm actually looking forward to Carbon and ProStreet.

What do you mean looking forward to Carbon? Carbon has been out since last November...

That's weird, I didn't know about it until the end of May, when my mom and I were at Best Buy.

Just off topic: The game has been out since November of last year dude. EA always releases one NFS game per year, and it's usually in fall. I advise that you skip Carbon. It's an unfinished and buggy game. Of course, ProStreet looks like it's shaping up decently, even though EA has once again disappointed me.
