NFS Underground: Second place on IGN

Post by Bojan »

Need for Speed Underground got the second place on IGNPS2's Best of E3 2003 Awards.
The next quote from IGN says a lot about:
This one gets the second spot in our list of E3 racers not because of the stable of tunable cars, not because of the long list of aftermarket companies on board, and not even because it is being developed by the Canucks over at Black Box. No, Need for Speed Underground deserves this spot because of its visual execution. It's freakin' amazing. Black Box pushes the PS2 hardware beyond the limit and then it twists the PS2's nipples and asks for more. Example: In the presentation we thought the demo was on an Xbox, but heh, it was on the PS2. What? You want speed? It feels like the car is barreling down city streets at 500 miles per hour, not 100, especially in the highly stylized drag race sequences. The screen shakes, lights flash, cars crash and the whole screen vibrates with energy.
