stuck on stage 7 Riverside Dr

hi guys,
i am driving porsche 911gt3Rs on stage 7 riverside dr on ps3. no matter how fast or good i drive,the other cars zoom past me. looks like i need a faster car to pass this stage. how can upgrade to new tier cars? i need good advise and i need it fast.
looking foward to hear from you all pro's out there...lol..
