The game is out now in North America and Canada, and it will be available soon in other continents. Let those reviews come in.
Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
A few things I noticed right away (that bug me) :
The game seems very demanding for some reason, I more than meet requirements, but I'm kinda getting choppy fps, tried messing with the settings a bit, but didn't help much.
I'm using a Rumblepad2, and the steering is VERY sensitive and there is no option for sensitivity or deadzone.. have some trouble keeping the car straight because of this. Major pain in e.g the Atom.
Also the easy drive menu randomly likes to go away when I'm checking upgrades etc, kinda annoying.
Otherwise it's been fun so far, though you really move up very fast on the list. Already around 6th and I barely completed the races on a few cars.. :/
Also, WOW on the amount of stuff taken straight out of BP..

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
It's alright. I enjoyed playing it on PS3 a lot today. Plenty of things about it bug me though, and I think they could have made the multiplayer better in many ways.
Everyone complained about the car list, but one of the things I enjoy about the game is that it has a nice diversity in the types of cars available, such as their inclusion of SUV's/trucks and track cars, and it also has a good mixture of classic &new, lower-tier & more exotic, etc.
I don't like the crash screen and how often it happens. It's very distracting and seems to happen almost anytime you hit anything. I don't like the map and the city very much, it's rather dull. It's also too small IMO and losing the cops can be tricky because there aren't a lot of alternate routes, etc. to drive. The original MW had a very big map with tons of roads, smaller side roads, off-road paths, etc., it was really cool. Plenty of places to sneak into and hide form the cops. That's proven a bit more difficult in this game. Overall, pursuits in this game tend to irritate me and I try to avoid them, in the original MW they could be a lot more fun.
But, then I've only played this game one day. Maybe my opinions on some things will change as I play more and get used to certain things. I also haven't done a whole lot with the multiplayer yet.

I agree, the game lags no matter what I try to fiddle around with. Its a weird kind of choppiness as well, sometimes ill be driving slowly by myself and the game starts shuttering for no reason.
Handling is really getting annoying. The cars feel heavy, that's expected, but for some reason the car slows down the moment you press the left/right steer button - Almost like there is some sort of "assisted braking" slowing me down.
Oh and the cops are ridiculously fast. I get smacked in my rear every so often by a cop car going 2x faster then me even on the straights.
The graphics are decent, I really like the bright light effects that appear along with sparks.
Also like the female narrator's voice.. makes me hhnnggg.
Enough talk, here are some pics. (right click and open them in a new tab to view their full re-sized size lol)

Another annoying thing, is how you have to repeat the sane races with different cars just to unlock mods for a particular car.
Eg, if race A unlocks nitrous, you have to play race A with EVERY car in order to unlock nitrous.
@ yael, could you tell me which car you found the fastest? Ill just find the car and do every race using it instead of finding cars faster than mine and just having to do all the races all over again.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Haven't really tried so many yet, but the Ariel Atom is definitely blazing fast.
It's also VERY easy to crash it though.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Just played with it for about 1hour or so...
managed to beat Most Wanted driver #10
found a few cars, Porsche 911 (obviously, you start with it) Subaru Impreza WRX, Nissan GTR (some special edition name), Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Lamborghini Countach, Ford SVT Raptor, and also saw the Arial Atom, but since I was on the SVT Raptor, couldn't get up that jump to get to it...
saw a few other cars, but didn't get them yet
and obviously the Alfa Romeo 4C
I really have to get used to the handling... have trouble getting first in easy races, and crashing a lot...
I also found it a bit laggy as well at times and the crash cutscenes CAN get VERY annoying... (especially how you can't skip it) and start of race sequence are very fancy and all but also annoying when you restart the race a lot *because of previously mentioned reasons*
had 2 short chases, but I guess because of the low heat reason, quite easy to evade...
haven't played multiplayer... will play more when I get the time (hard to come by these days)

i don't know how is the handling but i think you guys get better results using keyboard.
leave the controllers and wheels for the shift series.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Keep those opinions coming guys. It's very important to me, I honestly prefer to read user's opinions than to read a fancy review by one of those "professional" reviewers. I trust users most, that's it. Unless I smell fanboyism or ranting.
Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is always a good thing, either good or bad, but when it comes to fanboys and haters... all of that is thrown out the window...Hydro_PT wrote:Keep those opinions coming guys. if you start playing the game thinking it sucks to begin with, you'll NEVER like the game... you WILL find flaws that only matters to you, in your mind, but aren't really flaws at all... you're just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking... that, or someone said it somewhere, and all of a sudden it's become the "norm" of all the hate all over the place of how this sucks and that sucks... "professional" review of Medal of Honor Warfighter for example, they ALL slammed the game HORRIBLY... and a LOT of commenters saying "oh I'm glad I didn't buy it" or "hahaha I knew EA would suck hard!" for no reason other than to hate on the games, but those who actually bought, played and enjoyed it are saying it's VERY fun, and all the small flaws, bugs and glitches don't bother them much at all, unlike how the "professional" reviewers put it to be...
and of course that leads to "this sucks, I won't play anymore" or "I won't ever buy another game from EA again!" until the next one comes out... bunch of hypocrits
/rant
I REALLY like the graphics though, and I'm not sure but I think it looks better than Hot Pursuit
didn't really notice the option in anti-aliasing, but I turned everything max, and it runs at 30fps most of the time (seems locked) and a few times dips to 23-25, but they're playable (on my almost 3 years old system) also how the sun glares can make you blind coming out of a tunnel, etc makes it more interesting to drive around and I love how they have the whole day/night cycle (unlike the original MW)
and as Navid_A1 said, I really should try without using my controllers and go back to the old keyboard controls... maybe it'll be better... (always been keyboard until NFS Shift)
but ever since I got them, anything to do with driving, I tend to go on it first...
Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
I don't like this NFS, just like the Shift series. It's more burnout than NFS, no customizing, jumping from car to car, steering, try it before you buy it. As said you need to do races to unlock parts for your car, one race per part per car. So try before you buy .

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Need for speed most wanted its a great game however it has gameplay flaws and progression flaws it also have some good stuff specially in the graphic department and aesthetics.
PRESENTATION
Alright from the get go, need for speed graphics are amazing with a great lightning effects, the sunset in this game its almost soo bright that i feel like i need to wear some shades it looks very realistic and pretty much gives the sense that your driving in a real environment the car models look nice , with all kinds of moving parts, flaps and stuff and they all have a very powerful/roaring sound these cars don't sound like vacuum cleaners, they sound almost like their real counterparts, handling its well balanced you can drift but its not as easy to learn like in hot pursuit, you can feel different in cars specially when you apply the mods. most significant on changing body types and tire types.
GAMEPLAY
FAirhaven its huge ,depending the type of player you are. you can either collect things, go for the races ,or get into pursuits the rest its gonna be part of the flaws paragraph.progression in this game its quick , with multiplayer alone you can easily unlock all the most wanted races and once you beat them and shutdown they are yours.also multiplayer has a separate progression so you can unlock cars...but..
FLAWS
This game its repetitive ,guys they are only five races per car however that's 5 races meaning 5 ROUTES!,everycar you find on fairhaven mind you its 41 cars and the then there's different jackpots for it, its the same progression 5 races beginning with an easy race set in one of the same routes as the others, gives burn nitrous and a set of offroad tires, and the rest is the same for everycar you find, so 5 routes , same races , different names and then they create some cool intros and you think you gonna race somewhere different and you end up on the same path and the cops show up randomly as you get points whether its through pursuits or making huge jumps you unlock all this things so based on sp you can unlock everything in this game, the only races that are different are the most wanted cars chases but then you get the car and then you end playing the same races again.its a huge disappointment one that makes me think i just pay 65 dollars for this game and its half a game later on they gonna release more cars and more races and maybe a cop team mode online, but for now the game progression its horrible and very repetitive ,its like it was done on purpose gameplay design dosent make sense having a city soo huge like fairhaven and having only 5 races,5 routes the same.
I honestly stop playing the races and was just doing pursuits those are fun and provide something different and thrilling the cops they stay on you and you get to play with them like a cat and mouse game.
No photo mode its a shame that that with the beautiful scenery that this game has you can take pictures of your cars.
MULTIPLAYER
the same stuff, get your friends go to the meet point,do the same races over and over and the same events and sometimes it shuffles them then start again i prefer smashing them and get points and stuff.races are fast and furious ,very chaotic , things flying cars flipping, rolling ,its on the edge all the time.
Conclusion
Most wanted its a great title, but the gameplay design its horrible and repetitive, the car list its short but its also very varied and the cars handle very differently then the others.i feel like i was cheated and pay for half of a game not even the collectibles matter, because honestly its all about points i literally just spend the time getting into pursuits, and jumping putting my face on billboards also autolog keeps kicking me out i guess a patch will come for that.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Thanks for the review Phantom. It raised some red flags for me, though. I'm honestly thinking about getting the game the-way-you-shouldn't-get-it, and only then see if it is worth 30€ or so (PC version from the UK, kinda cheap).
In the end, you say "the game is great", and then "i feel like i was cheated and pay for half of a game".
So, is it good or bad after all? Hehe just joking with you, no need to answer.
What about the M3? Do you have it already? Is it the real thing?

no problem hydro but yeah try it, its a beautiful game man that's what stands out and the multiplayer its mindless fun but sometimes it gets repetitive but your playing with people so you encounter all types of shenanigans and crazy moments like cars just flipping all over the road while your going fast because i gotta tell you this game its exhilarating ,its blistering fast man.
and no GTR Yet man, i dunno maybe its some form of Easter egg or maybe its just a tease for a dlc, maybe some promotion code from slim Jim, if you buy slim Jim products you unlock the charger 2012/2013.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Well I got it a little early for the Antipodean's but my first impressions are thus...
Graphics:
It's Frostbite 2. There are a few things people need to know about this engine before jumping straight in. It needs both a good CPU and GPU to run it properly. It's primarily driver dependant and suffers from poor coding in the gfx buffering so even on top end GPU/CPU combinations it has pretty average FPS results.
Make sure you disable VSync as that limits the game to 30FPS and makes it more choppy.
Anything below an AMD/ATi 6950 or nVidia GTX 560Ti and you won't hit 60 FPS, as they are the minimum for 50-60 FPS averages. 7970's and GTX680's will make mincemeat of the gfx in this as they are less demanding that Battlefield 3 or Medal of Honour Warfighter (let's not mention The Run...).
I was very very disappointed with the car models. Only reason is the low detail nature of them. Having played a ton of Shift 2 and pCARS I am well aware of a good 3D model and there are so many faults on these its worrying. Badly drawn corners and curves which really damage some of the cars lines (especially the Porsches and the SLS so far). They look like they were lifted straight out of Hot Pursuit 2010 which suffered the same issue.
The world graphics on the other hand are fantastic, look absolutely stunning and give a great gritty urban sprawl feel. Some areas are more Japanese mountains, the industrials look and feel epic and the general quality there is great.
Gameplay:
I'll start with physics. This is so consoley it's not funny. I say consoley in that there's auto-braking, and turning even slightly slows the cars down too much. The devs really should have taken a note or two from Shift 2 in how to allow a car to turn properly, even Underground 1 was better than this. As for jumping etcetera well it's a mix of too heavy and too light, sometimes you go flying (especially the AI) and others you just don't make something that's relatively easy. Cars often feel confused in grip levels too, one minute you are on dry tarmac and drifting endlessly, next you are on sopping wet tarmac and gripping like a F1 car with Seb Vettel at the wheel, it's almost like the properties for Wet and Dry are mixed up or the engine doesn't pick up on the flags for these properly. Oh and minor annoyance, when in a tunnel and it's damp outside the tunnel you get spray off the wheels if drifting in the tunnel....
One separate area that I should note here is that I'd prefer if damage in the game was more along the lines of realism, hit a plastic bin and it won't KO your car, but hit a lamppost and it should! I know the original suspended reality for this but that was on a much inferior engine. This engine has the capability to model everything pretty well. It also has the ability to move around as a player (see BF3) so WHY did they limit it to just cars? I'd love to get out and go into the underground auto shop to get parts for my SL65 AMG Black Edition. Missed opportunity IMO.
The Races themselves are very repetitive, though you expect that normally to a degree, but as mentioned above in another review, when there are only 5 races for each car that are the same each time and the only different ones are the Black List cars then there's some damn lazy design going on. Even the original had over 100 different races outside the 15 Black List cars. So Criterion seem to have the same short sighted dev of BP transferring over to this which is very very worrying for the future of the franchise.
Audio:
Awesome. Fantastic. Criterion really spent the dollars on making the cars sound right with the loud SLS and the ear splitting Ariel, it's just car audio porn.
Control's:
Use an Xbox pad if on the PC. Keyboard works too, but the game is setup and balanced for the Xbox pad. Using other pads will need a lot of config to make work as well. Better setups with wheels and pedals are a total waste in this arcade game
Conclusion:
I may have been very critical of a lot of aspects of the game above and because I was looking in detail at them (probably more detail than I've written) it may give an impression I don't like the game. That's not true. I like it, it's quite fun and going on past releases makes The Run and HP 2010 look like the turds they truly are. It's almost back to the area of Underground/Most Wanted 1 where the franchise hit a sweet spot of fun, mods and racing, with good handling (though MW1's handling was bad Underground 1's wasn't ). If the game gets modded, then I think it could achieve better handling and so on, but in it's current state I'd give it a 75%.

Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
Here some info from my..
Started to play most wanted this afternoon, after setting up my rumble pad 2 I made a small mistake. The moment I wanted to chance that mistake the option menu failed, tried everything to chance my settings but nothing is working. I keep getting the error (don’t touch the controller!) wen trying to chance a option. After that I got pissed off and selected the keyboard..
like some reviews above, graphics are great! I got everything on full throttle and the city is really beautiful.
But gameplay kind off fails for my taste, First off all really heavy cars.. the steering response is to high but in some cases to low.. :-/ Also wen making a corner is like the cars auto brake, because you do really slow down a lot..
Anyway I can write a really long story, but I will not! I will give only the good and bad points now.
Good points..
(1) Beautiful city!
(2) Nice cars.
(3) cool jumps.
(4) Very nice Graphics.
Bad points..
(1) No mouse control.
(2) Not a good working Gamepad setup.
(3) Heavy cars.
(4) Bad handling. (Wen I try to avoid a traffic car, I will not be able to turn away in time or I will turn so much that the car fly’s in to the wall and crash)
(5) Need to do the same race over and over to unlock options for your cars.
(6) Not all races support a fast start function.. So you need to drive half the city to join a event and wen you fail and want to do the race again well you already understand you will need to drive half the city again!
Left the game before I tested multiplayer..
With other word I come to the same conclusion as Phantom_pain33 “pay for half of a game”
In my opinion a Fail to be honesty..
On other news...
EA. should spend more time and money in need for speed world with a good anti cheat and some new maps added like canyons that they promised us 2 years ago. They would beat Most wanted in anyway!

I hate the Rubberband A.I.
You can takedown a guy during a race and be having a great run and some how this guy will still catch up to you way too fast...
I also keep getting a hiccup like the game is going to freeze, but hasn't yet...
Everytime I hit a Ramp I want to do a flatspin...

Ok, so after playing the game a little more, I am MW 7.
I played primarily with the BAC Mono, just like Yael said I should go light weight. The car is absolutely fun to drive but I started to hate getting poopoo'd on by anyone touching me specially the cops. Then I found the GT-R. This car is I think the best thing to have happened to me so far. It is freaking awesome. I highly suggest everyone to give it a go.
I was able to beat all the races using the GT-R without much effort. The car takes down other cars rather effortlessly too
So far the only cars I haven't unlocked are the super exotics ones like the Aventador, 918, Huayra, Veyron SS.. stuff like that.

you guys on PC want to share Origin IDs?
Mine is Zed-Xs
played a bit more yesterday, and I agree with keyboard control being better.
much easier to do quick direction changes, etc than on a joystick
I'd also like to point out that because you don't 'like' the progression system, or the lack of customization means the game 'sucks'
the game crashed once, for me < THAT really sucks
but later, I went to Documents > Criterion > Most Wanted folder and opened the .sav(?) file to modify I think it was LockTo30fps into "true" the game is a LOT more smoother. (need to search again where I found this little tweak)
I'm really liking the Audi R8... took down 2 MW drivers so far (out of 1h30 mins of gameplay about)
the open world SEEMS large when you're driving on it, but once you open up the full map, it feels "that's it!?" ... then again, you'd have to remember that there are a LOT of open, off-road areas that you don't see so clearly on the map
but one thing I really dislike about the game is the easiness to crash... and OFTEN... sometimes, a police roadblock of SUVs, that you have NO WAY of going around, you obviously crash through it... but it cuts to the big CRASH cutscene and it gets annoying... even though your car made it just fine (although a LOT slower than when you went in) I understand if you hit a wall or a big head-on collision, but not when running through a roadblock, it's quite annoying.

Na-ah, you have an option to "retry last event".honke wrote: (6) Not all races support a fast start function.. So you need to drive half the city to join a event and wen you fail and want to do the race again well you already understand you will need to drive half the city again!
Long time since I posted here, but this game is great! I really like the city, the gfx, cars, open world, jumps and boy I love the mountain roads
Re: Most Wanted 2012 - Users reviews
yeah I found that out yesterday while browsing the EasyDrive menu... I was cursing that I had to drive back 8km because I hit a wall at the LAST 100m, and lost the race and had to go back ALL the way to the start... (did it once) then did the SAME THING AGAIN!!!... then I happen to notice that... and WOW!!! how convenient!Danyutz wrote:Na-ah, you have an option to "retry last event".honke wrote: (6) Not all races support a fast start function..
