I wanted to create this thread so that we could pool together our discoveries and also help those who may have trouble with Most Wanted. Whether it's progressing through SP or MP, unlocking mods, mod setups, leveling up your driving skill, or anything you're concerned about, feel free to share.

Ah, I had the same idea actually, but hadn't got around to it for whatever reason. Anyway, I'll kick it off with some pursuit tips:
  • For most cars, equip the 'acceleration' and 'strong' mods in pursuits; powershot nitrous, short gears, reinflate tyres, reinforced chassis etc. Some cars such as the Ariel Atom may require long gears so that the cops can be outrun when needed.
  • Pursuits are easiest to manage on the highway, particularly along the eastern and northern sides of the map where the road is open and fast.
  • Manage the amount of police chasing you by tagging traffic cars as you pass them. Use a sideswipe instead of a rear-end shunt for best effect. Traffic takedowns are the safest way to take out cops.
  • With powershot nitrous fitted, hang out near a highway gas station and "circulate" - drive up and down the highway near the station, use a handbrake turn to do a quick 180 and then hit nitrous head-on into an approaching cop. This will usually refill your nitrous. If not, pass back through the gas station and refill it that way. Now, 180 again, rinse and repeat. When doing those 180 turns, drift them wide rather than turning on a dime - a moving target is harder for the cops to hit.
  • Once you reach heat level 6, you're on borrowed time. At that point, gas it outta there with nitrous and attempt to outrun the cops to reach cooldown. Keep going at this point until your heat drops to level 4. Now go find more cops. I find the "sweet spot" is at heat 5, with lots of relatively weak Corvettes around. This is also the heat level where spike strips are dropped, allowing you to level up your tyres.
  • Roadblocks generally have the same configuration when they appear in a particular place. Learn which blocks are passable and where the gaps are. With the exception of Crown Vic roadblocks (which can always be crashed through), roadblocks without gaps are best avoided either with a shortcut or a 180 e-brake turn and heading back the way you came.
  • SWAT vans *can* be taken down! At least the moving ones - don't bother with the SWAT roadblocks, those are impervious to damage. With a very strong car however, you can take out a SWAT van with repeated sideswipes and/or shunts. You will always lose in a head-on battle, however.
As I write this, my best pursuit returned 128K SP, lasting over an hour. In reality, pursuits can be drawn out as long as you like using the techniques listed above.

I have a similar setup for my "pursuit" vehicles, except I have them equipped with off road tires from the start. I then switch to reinflates when I enter heat 5. All my cars have power shot, short gear (except for cars in the Race category), and both strong mods in case I'm in a pinch and need to switch during a pursuit.

As for racking up speed points, I try to stay between heat 2-4 while battling as much Crown Vics and Chargers as I can with a repair shop near by. I'm okay with heat 5, although the pursuit can quickly escalate to heat 6 after a few take downs, then it becomes a hassle to reduce your heat. Thus, the method of repeatedly pulling a 180 to take down cops becomes risky when you've got those yellow headlights from a SWAT van staring at you from a distance.

Depending on the vehicle you're in, heat 4 SUVs can be difficult to take down. So for cars in the Race and surprisingly some in the Sports category, like the Gallardo, heat 3 and below works well. Cars in the Grand Tourer and Muscle group can take down those SUVs with ease.

I never tried taking on the SWAT vans, wonder how much SP you get from them. I'm curious if you have a reliable method for losing heat 6.
